Bucky Covington in a brand-new promo photo from a recent photoshoot; visit his MySpace to see more. Bucky's new music video is now available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can pre-order Bucky's debut CD at Amazon, Best Buy and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be pre-ordered at his official site or via his official fan club.As of today's afternoon Mediabase rankings, Bucky Covington's "A Different World" is now a sweet #25 on the weighted chart, and #24 on the Top 500! (Yes, our requests and calls and such make a huge difference--and there's nothing like seeing the proof in bold black letters. Congratulations...looks like this song's officially on a roll!)
And here's an interesting aside to the Mediabase news today; Bucky's fans who are also Sirius Satellite Radio subscribers had the pleasure of hearing the studio version of "The Bible And the Belt" this week. As far as we know, that track has not yet been aired on terrestrial radio, but the five airings it got on New Country 60 were enough to land it at the #189 spot on the Top 500 chart. (And the exuberant "It's Good to be Us" was played twice during radio interviews on Bucky's promo tour, which allowed it to flirt with the chart at #295.)
All this adds up to one unmistakable conclusion--Bucky's single is well and truly on its way. Even the tightest playlists are pretty receptive to a request for a Top 25 song--so if you've had any resistance from your local country station, expect a much warmer response this week. Request, y'all! Countdowns, lunchtime cafes--wherever the lines are open. Now's the time!

In live music news, there's an interesting offer posted in the message section on Bucky's official MySpace today; scroll down to the Apr 1 2007 11:54 a.m. message from Joe's to find out how to get free tickets to see Bucky at Joe's on Weed in Chicago on April 13. (Yes, we do know what day it is--but that was posted by the real Joe's MySpace. Worth a look...and while you're there, be sure to add Bucky to your MySpace friends list. It's a great way to keep up with Bucky's extremely busy schedule.)
Kathy at Team Covington has some fun news via GAC--Bucky Covington is their Fan Focus Artist for the month of April. (There isn't much info about this particular honor on the GAC site, but it sounds like quite a compliment, indeed.) Bucky will be pretty visible on the channel this week--you can see him on the Top Twenty Country Countdown with Nan Kelley on Friday, on the Grand Ole Opry Live on Saturday, and on GAC Nights on Thursday, April 12th. That's a whole lotta focus!
We'll close with those voting reminders: be sure to stop in an give a hand to "A Different World" on the CMT Pure Country Pure 12-Pack video countdown and on GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown.
More very soon!
Just saw on the GAC Countdown that Bucky is GAC Fan Focus Artist of the month! I can't find any info on their site though???
ReplyDeleteThat sounds pretty exciting--I hope there's some info coming on the site, too! Hmmm...
ReplyDeleteBucky is definitely on a roll!
Do you think that will be Bucky's next single. 5 spins on sirius seems like alot.
ReplyDeleteHi, Anon! Hard to say--satellite radio is different from terrestrial radio in that they're a bit freer to be creative about the playlists. (It could be something as simple as someone at Sirius really loving that track!)
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know, there's no firm decision on the next single. Hope someone who subscribes to Sirius will give us a little more info on where and when "Bible" is being played!
