See more Bucky Covington photos at CMT.com.)(Edited to add some great news from WalMart.com, via Team Covington--Wal-Mart is offering a free download of "Carolina Blue", a beautiful song from Bucky's brand new CD. Hurry over there and snag this one fast!)
If you're reading this, chances are you've either already hit your local Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, FYE, Borders, K-Mart or Circuit City and picked up a copy of Bucky's CD, or you'll be headed out soon--but if you haven't made the trip yet for lack of knowing where to go, the fine folks at Hyfntrak are here to help you out. Not only is there a two-track pop-up mini player to give you a taste of what's literally in store for you today, there's also a bright blue box inside the player with a store locator feature. Click the box, choose your retailer, enter your location and you'll know exactly where to pick up a copy of Bucky Covington today. (Edited to add--it's now available on iTunes, as well.)
Our friend BuckyChaser already has hers--she sent this cute picture of a very impressive display at the Wal-Mart in Laurinburg, NC, where Bucky grew up. (Thanks, BuckyChaser! Please click the image to view full size.)And if you'd like to preview the music before you buy, the entire CD is available for your listening pleasure at Clear Channel Music. There's also a track-by-track review of the CD here at Buckymania--enjoy!
I'm off to the store myself in a moment, but here's a reminder I wanted to share--Bucky's XM Satellite Radio "Driver's Ed" segment is coming up soon on the Highway 16 channel. You can catch him today at 3 p.m. ET, with repeats on Thursday (9 a.m. ET) and Sunday (noon ET). XM offers a free trial, or treat yourself and enjoy a bargain-priced $7.99 per month subscription for online listeners. "A Different World" is also lookin' good at #20 on the fan-voted Sirius Satellite New Country Hot 30 this week--way to go, y'all...
(I'm on my way to make the long round trip to my local Circuit City, but I can't think of a better "guest blogger" than Bucky himself--check out his text messages in the Twitter box up top to see what he's up to at the moment, or click here to go to his Twitter profile page. If there's any big breaking news while I'm away, please leave it in comments and I'll post it out front the moment I return. Happy shopping, everyone!--Winnie.)
heard commercial with Bucky singing clip of ADW and AFN for K-Mart, so yet another place to shop!
ReplyDeleteI wish the Twitter blog had a GPS thing attached so I could find out where in NY he is having lunch :-).
ReplyDeleteDrat I missed her! On the subject of sales.... HDD has none posted for Bucky but Clay walker is already showing..... it debuted today as well??? Here is the link:

beesims - you're crazy.... But I'd be right there w/you....
ReplyDeleteNo sales showing for Bucky.. Thats not a good sign.
ReplyDeleteI went to walmart JUST TO LOOK and ended up coming away with a cd lol. I just wanted to see the stand ;)
ReplyDeleteI got at least 5 order too, 1 from amazon and at least 4 autographed ones coming lol.
On HDD it has The artists with debut albums with N/A. This is not Clay walkers first CD. We may have to wait till next Tues to get Buckys numbers. Right now Amazon has Bucky ranked at 143. And clay is at 460's.
ReplyDeleteNo need to worry...Bucky's cd won't show up on the chart until next week. HDD tracks sales from the previous week (Mon thru Sun).
ReplyDeleteOk I figured it out now. Those numbers on HDD are for the artists last album. And how they sold their first week and then overall sales of their previos album. Buckys numbers will be in next week.
ReplyDeleteFolks should remember to not expect Daughtry or even Pickler type sales, at least the first week. A slow and steady build is good. That's what Josh Gracin did and he went gold.
ReplyDeleteI meant to say, slow and steady wins the race. All you have to do is look at Bucky's methodical but surefire trek from the start of last season until now to know that's true.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah no one expects daughtry #s lol Now I see with it being his debut and Clay has had an album before. But for comparison I would think that would give us a hint seeing as he is doing better than Clay on Amazon???? Hope so :) And yes I will take steady any day!
ReplyDeletebeesims-- haa haa I so laughed out loud at the GPS
ReplyDeleteBucky was freakin' delightful on Driver's Ed today. And the live songs were so great as well! :) I love the format of this show and Bucky was fabulous on it!!!! :D
ReplyDeleteThe Bucky poster from Circuit City is really nice! :D
ReplyDeleteAmazon rank #129. YUP!!
ReplyDelete129!!!!!!!!!!!! Woot!!!
ReplyDeleteHOLY MOLY!! Amazon #89..WOOT..
ReplyDeleteBucky just did an interview on WYPY Baton Rouge. He told us all to go pick up TWO cds each. hehe! He also talked about the Opry and meeting Little Jimmy Dickens, why country idols are successful, etc. He also mentioned seeing someone at the airport today. Can't remember who.
ReplyDeleteI was disappointed with his cd placement at our Wal-Mart. There were none on the endcaps, and at first I couldn't find it at all. Finally I found it on the next-to-bottom shelf. And there was no sign or anything indicating it was on sale. The sticker said it was $13.88, but it rang up at only $9.72.
But I'm thrilled to finally have the Bucky cd I've been waiting for so long! :)
I'm back, and there's a Bucky Covington CD on my desk--man, have I been waiting to type those words! :D
ReplyDeleteSoooooooooo happy...
Beesims, I am giggling with Kathy and Pizzi at you and the GPS! (Remember the old "Wild Kingdom" show with Jim and those handy yellow bands... ;)
Count me as another one who believes in the beauty of a slow and steady build for this CD. He'll have a good first week, but the sheer number of possible singles here guarantees that he'll have a long, good stretch on the charts.
Loving the Amazon news--thanks for bringing it over!
Thanks for that Driver's Ed recap--looking forward to hearing that on the repeat! :)
Anon, that Baton Rouge interview sounds interesting--thanks for sharing it with us. It's very cool to know how much Bucky respects the Opry and its living legends. I hope he'll be back there again soon! Sorry about the CD placement at WalMart--there wasn't much fanfare at our local Circuit City either, but I got there at four p.m. and there were only five or six Bucky Covington CDs left in the bins, and they had to fish for a poster--I take it that's a good sign. :)
Ok, I am horrible but I am going to keep checking at Walmart and Kmart and moving him to the front lol 89!!!!!! WOot Woot!
ReplyDeletepizzi can you see if you can see the twitter on my blog now? i think Winnie figured out the problem. Just leave me comment when you get a chance! Thanks!
