Wednesday news: Good Morning America, "PDA Today" and more...

Bucky Covington's debut CD will be in stores April 17th; visit his official site for a full track listing and much more info. Bucky's new music video is now available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can pre-order Bucky's CD at Amazon, Best Buy and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT, or enjoy samples of four songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be pre-ordered at his official site or via his official fan club.

ABC's Good Morning America is in progress on the East Coast at post time (check local listings for time and channel near you); Bucky Covington will be part of a segment on "style tranformation before/during Idol" according to the press release. Bucky's distinctive style is a topic that's come up every so often since the Idol show, when the StarStyle site first lovingly traced the sources for many of those great Western looks Bucky sported during the show--surprisingly, Bucky's StarStyle page is still online. Nowadays, individual designers like Cali Jewelry (check out the "Media Frenzy" link for photos of Bucky, Rocky and Elliott Yamin wearing their creations) and shops like Buckle (Bucky himself gave them a shoutout in his delightful Celeb-Rated listings) get the kudos for Bucky's current bangin' neo-Western/rocker look. What will Good Morning America have to say about Bucky's style today? We'll have a mini-recap after the show...

In the meantime, if you'd like to see Bucky's current look in action, you can catch his music video for "A Different World" today at about 9:28 a.m. ET on GAC, and again at 10:22 this evening. (We'll post those handy video voting reminders here, too--be sure to give Bucky a boost on the CMT Pure Country Pure 12-Pack video countdown and on GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown. And Bucky's run on the WKML "Top 5 at 6" countdown continues--thanks to all who called and wrote requesting "A Different World" yesterday! You can get a jump-start on today's countdown by sending an email to country@wkml.com, then listen to the stream at 6 p.m. ET to see how he fares tonight. And as always, request "A Different World" at your local country station--there's a sweet burst of chart momentum happening, and those twenty-something numbers are looking good. (The morning Mediabase charts are a little late today, but here are the links to the Top 500 and the weighted chart--fingers crossed for good news!)

Bucky performed at an Idol viewing party/autograph session/acoustic performance last night in Youngstown, Ohio; a kind local fan who went to the show posted her recap on the Bucky Covington fan thread at AmericanIdol.com--sounds like it was a fantastic night! Not every one of these radio station-sponsored shows is posted on Bucky's official site; local stations are of course inclined to serve their own listeners first and foremost. (Something to keep in mind when making requests as well--only request at stations you can actually listen to, locally or online.) The key to not missing out? Be a listener. Sign up for your local country station's mailing list, turn your radio on, and keep an ear out for special events in your area.

And if your station's not the sponsoring kind--I feel your pain, y'all!--there are plenty of station sponsored events that happily welcome fans from all over. Those will be the ones splashed all over the internet and the print media, like the WYCD Hoedown. We'll keep track of those as well--and with any luck, we'll get together there!

We'll cut this short for the moment--look for a mini-recap in this spot after the Good Morning American Idol segment...

(Edited at 7:35: Well, if you settled in with a cup of coffee to watch Bucky on Good Morning America, chances are good that your java barely had time to cool! The three-minute segment started at about 7:30 and featured Idol fashion and hairstyle moments; Bucky--who looked pretty stylish himself in an abstract t-shirt and his trademark silver bling--was on camera to remind us that you have to bring the voice as well, and there was a shot of him on stage in Youngstown last night. Good Morning America often posts video clips from the show on their official site, so pop in later today for a possible peek at Bucky...)

Finally, a wild contest from the folks at Bucky Nation, Bucky's official street team--if you're into public displays of affection, join the street team (it's free and a lot of fun!) and find out how your creative PDA in support of Bucky's CD can make you a big winner.

More very soon!

I blinked I guess, because I only saw about 5 seconds of Bucky and I heard no CD plug. They do have the dancers on for a second time so maybe we get more Bucky. I did tape it but it was very short.

  3. Nope, no CD plug, and it was definitely a blink-and-you-miss it segment...sigh. Our East Coast version didn't have a graphic footer with his name, even.

Wonder what they left on the cutting room floor?
