Bucky Covington in a brand-new promo photo from a recent photoshoot; visit his MySpace to see more. Bucky's new music video is now available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can pre-order Bucky's debut CD at Amazon, Best Buy and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT, or enjoy samples of songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be pre-ordered at his official site or via his official fan club.If you're one of the many, many new readers who first found Buckymania after Bucky's recent Regis and Kelly appearance, congratulations and welcome! The two songs he performed on the show--his debut single "A Different World" and that tantalizing bit of "I'm Good" that closed the show--are available as studio-version clips at his official site. But for a truly unique taste of what's coming up on Bucky Covington's debut CD, there's nothing like seeing him absolutely live.
Those who live in the Toledo, Ohio and Kansas City areas are in luck this week--although the shows are not yet posted on his official tour page, Bucky will be making a stop in Toledo at Shawn's Irish Tavern on Thursday, 3/29 to do a show sponsored by K100. Listen to the station to find out how you can win free VIP tickets, and have a blast, y'all! The doors open at 5 p.m.--we'll be with you in spirit.
And on 3/30, Bucky will be one of many artists doing not one but two performances to celebrate Q104's birthday--there's an open-to-the-public Acoustic Cantina at McCoy's in Westport that afternoon (Bucky's tentatively scheduled to take the stage at 2 p.m.) and a winners-only Q104 Birthday Bash at the Beaumont Club Friday evening. Stay tuned to KBEQ 104 to win tickets on the air, or to find out where they'll be giving them away...
We'll add the same excellent advice that's given on Bucky's official site: All dates are subject to change; please consult with the venue before traveling long distances. And once you've checked to make sure the show is a go--go! Bucky Covington live is a joyful, rockin' treat not to be missed. Get out to one of the shows on his schedule, and you'll definitely see what we mean.
Looking ahead a little, the Detroit News has a bit more info about the Detroit Downtown Hoedown sponsored by WYCD:
The Hoedown has its own website--the mailing list option doesn't seem to be fully functional yet, but once it's running, be sure to sign up for the latest updates. (Joining the WYCD mailing list seems like a pretty good idea, as well...)Billed as the "world's largest free country concert," the Downtown Hoedown will celebrate 25 years when it kicks off a season of weekend festivals May 18-20 at Hart Plaza.
This year's fest will feature a lineup of national country artists, such as Little Big Town, Emerson Drive, Tracy Lawrence and Aaron Tippin. The bill will include performances by "American Idol" alumnus and Westland native Josh Gracin, along with "American Idol's" Bucky Covington.
For those of us too far away to see a live show, there's still plenty of online fun to be had. That "burning questions" promotion on Bucky's official MySpace blog has an added incentive as of today--if your question is one of the 10 he answers, you'll get an autographed 8x10 photo. Be sure to let Bucky know what's on your mind by March 31st, and good luck!
A few voting reminders: the Country Weekly "Country's Sexiest Man" poll is still in progress--Bucky's not on the list of names, but you can always vote for him as a write-in. (And after that excellent story on Bucky in the current issue of Country Weekly, chances are good that some extra write-in votes will be added to ours--just a guess.) One vote per email address; the poll ends on 4/9, so get those votes in soon...
On the video front, we can give "A Different World" a round of applause with our votes on the CMT Pure Country Pure 12-Pack video countdown and on GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown. And with Bucky's single now in the lower twenties on the Mediabase charts, there couldn't be a better time to request "A Different World" at your local country station and zap an email to an email to country@wkml.com requesting "Bucky for the WKML "Top 5 at 6". (Bucky was on the countdown yesterday--it's always nice to know that our phone calls and emails are being heard.)
Finally, today's the day to hit your local Circuit City store and pick up Tim McGraw's latest CD, Let it Go--an 8-minute interview DVD featuring Bucky on the set of the video for "A Different World" comes free with Tim's new CD only at Circuit City, while supplies last. (Kathy at Team Covington has a link to a fantastic article about country music's spring releases, including Bucky's--an enjoyable preview of what you'll see when browsing the music racks in the coming weeks...)
More later!
On the player link for Buckys songs. There are also only 2 songs on it as well. ADW & AFN.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Just changed it over to the official site link--wonder if they're going to add different songs now? The official site still plays all four of the preview tracks--hopefully that'll stay the same.
