Morning news: Tampa TV alert, "it's the wings!" and more...

Bucky Covington outside the Regis and Kelly show studios in New York on March 21st; photo courtesy of Beesims. (Thanks so much for your generosity!) Bucky's new music video is now available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can pre-order Bucky's debut CD at Amazon, Best Buy and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT, or enjoy samples of four songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be pre-ordered at his official site or via his official fan club.

If you're up early, there's some fun waiting for you via your computer's speakers today; Bucky's said to be scheduled for the "Cledus T. Party" morning show at WQYK. This station streams, so be sure to tune in. (Those of us who've heard Bucky Covington's morning show interviews know we're in for a fantastically funny treat. If you haven't had the pleasure yet, it's a must!) The show runs from 6 to 10 a.m. ET; if I hear details about the specific time of the interview, I'll pass them along...

And there's news on the local TV front, too. According to this post on entertainment reporter Charley Belcher's on-site blog, Bucky Covington will be appearing on Fox 13's Good Day Tampa Bay show on Thursday morning, and on the "Charley's World" segment on the 10:00 news that night. Get those DVRs ready... (Edited to add--Bucky'll be on the Fox affiliate show at about 8:20 a.m. or so--thanks to Honeygirl for the heads-up.)

Bucky's fans in Sarasota are in luck tonight--Bucky's doing an acoustic set at the Hooters in Bradenton on Hwy 41 this evening at about 6 p.m., and while I can't top the sweet, snarky wit of this Sarasota Herald-Tribune article about the joys of that particular combination, I can say that its a rare opportunity for Bucky's lady fans to give the "it's the wings!" excuse to the guys for a change. Should be quite a party! The show is sponsored by WCTQ; listen in for details. (There's also a conference call in the works--head over to the Chit-Chat section at the forums on Bucky's official site for the latest updates.)

Those of us who aren't lucky enough to enjoy Bucky singing live in Florida today can do our best to make sure we can see and hear him on TV and radio; voting for the CMT Pure Country Pure 12-Pack video countdown is over for the week (it'll reset with a ballot for next Friday's show), but GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown is still waiting to hear from us today. And pop into the CMT's Power Picks page between between 3 and 4 p.m. ET to see if Bucky's video is among those competing for a spot in the show.

Finally, a big thanks to all who requested "A Different World" at country@wkml.com for the WKML "Top 5 at 6"--Bucky was on the countdown yesterday! It'll be fun to hear him tonight, too, so zap them a note this morning. And of course, request Bucky at your local country station today--whether it's a lunchtime request, or an evening dedication, let them know you love hearing Bucky in your hometown.

More soon!

    Hi Winnie,

Here's a link to the few decent pictures I got from Bucky's return to 67th Street. Feel free to use any you want.

  2. Carol, thank you so much--and I am truly envious of your day with Pizzi, Irma and Bucky. You must have had a fantastic day, and you didn't even have to pack any luggage! All we need now is to get a Waffle House out there and it'll be perfect...

    Have a great night!

  7. Ladies, Oh boy, I had a wonderful time. I met Beesims and Irma, what fun gals... We were so fan girly, at least I was... And for those of you who caught the show, I was the member of the studio audience that won the prize. $500 of LobsterGram. Can you believe that. First we made the show...then I won the prize, then also only 3 rows away from Bucy, he was great. Than to boot we met him out side. WOW that was a WIN WIN situation. What a way to start of my spring... AWESOME. then my luck ran out as I locked myself out of the house and had to climb through the smallest window and and scraped my legs on the window fram. I have bruises everywhere. But I still had fun..

  8. Pizzi, congratulations--except for the locked-out part, that sounds like an amazingly fun way to spend a Wednesday! Enjoy that LobsterGram!

  9. Whoops! Sorry, Anon--went to answer you and accidentally deleted. To answer your question--um, we're not too familiar with Mr. North's cinematic stylings, so we don't know. Thanks for asking, though. :)
