Bucky Covington on the Grand Ole Opry stage, March 9th; photo by the generous Honeygirl. Thanks so much! (You can enjoy more of her great shots here.) Bucky's new music video is now available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can pre-order Bucky's debut CD at Amazon, Best Buy and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT, or enjoy samples of four songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be pre-ordered at his official site or via his official fan club.By the time you read this, Bucky's latest USAToday.com diary should be posted and ready--curl up with a good cup of coffee and find out what Bucky's been up to lately!* And remember to leave him a note in the comments section--it's a nice way to thank Bucky and USA Today for these fun glimpses into his busy week...
Bucky's week ahead looks like it'll be a whirlwind, too--not only is he appearing on Live with Regis and Kelly on Wednesday, he's scheduled for a "WPCV radio event" in Lakeland, Florida the same day. (Apparently, this is another "mystery event"; there are no details on Bucky's official site, and the WCPV page held no clues that I could find--with any luck, Bucky will solve the mystery himself in his diary later this morning. If you're a Bucky fan in the Lakeland area, please feel free to leave a note in comments and let us know what he'll be doing in your neck of the woods!)
On the video front, the CMT Pure Country Pure 12-Pack video countdown and GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown are two good places to give Bucky some (voting style) applause, and a peek at the Pick or Flick page indicated that "A Different World" is on its way to its third straight victory as of post time. You can also see Bucky's video at about 5:29 this evening on GAC, according to the channel's website.

Looking backwards just a little, the Country Music section at About.com has been updated with coverage of the Country Radio Seminar that rocked Nashville earlier this month; one of their writers was on hand for the "Live from CRS-38" showcase at the Wildhorse Saloon, and she shares her review here, along with a gallery of performance photos.
And since we're on the topic of radio, remember to start the work-week off right--request "A Different World" at your local country station today! It's safe to bet that Bucky's appearance on Regis and Kelly will give the song a sweet boost; but there's no time like the present to let your hometown station know that you'd like to hear Bucky more often. The effects of the most recent pole-vaulting superstar on the Mediabase Top 500 and weighted charts make our requests and dedications especially important this week. So call, write or fax your favorite station, and give Bucky a helping hand. (A good way to warm up would be an email to country@wkml.com to request "A Different World" for the WKML "Top 5 at 6"; the show streams at 6 p.m. ET., and it's always fun when Bucky's part of the countdown...)
*Edited at 12:50 p.m. ET--Bucky's latest diary turned out to be more of a lunch date than a morning meeting. Thanks to Mr. Barnes and Bucky for everything--hey, we're happy to see it, any time of day. You can catch the latest installment here--enjoy! --Winnie
More very soon...
Good morning!! I am pins and needles waiting for Bucky's Diary. Have you had any probs with the new site? I sometimes cannot log in.
ReplyDeleteHey, Dina! How'd you get in here? :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm no one to go by--this PC has problems with about half the sites out there!--but I will try to find out if anyone else is havng problems and what the workaround might be.
Hope you can get in there soon--it's lovely!
Hi Winnie,
ReplyDeleteI think that #4 was the last installment for the Bucky Diaries. Kellie only had four installments.
But the good newes is that the first part of the Mrs Jones interview has been posted. He is his usual funny, candid self.
Carol
PS: love those little video clips of his new songs "Ain't no Thang" and "Wheh we were Gods". "Ain't no Thang" looks like it is going to be a hot one live and I love the melody of "When we Were Gods". This CD is gonna kill.
It looks like part 5 of the Bucky Diaries was just posted a little while ago. Laurianne
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carol and Laurianne! (And my apologies--I managed to mess up the comment order while attemting to edit...sigh.)
ReplyDeleteCarol, thanks for the heads-up on Mrs. Jones--that was a hoot! And I agree about the songs. Both of the new-to-us tunes are really impressive, and I bet this CD is going to do very well, even among people who wouldn't touch Idol with the proverbial bargepole. Quoting Randy Jackson: "We've got a hot one here!"
Laurianne, thank you for the Diary news, and I'm off to check it out right now!
