A bit of a break...

Bucky Covington in a brand-new promo photo from a recent photoshoot; visit his MySpace to see more. Bucky's new music video is now available for online viewing at CMT.com and Yahoo Music. You can pre-order Bucky's debut CD at Amazon, Best Buy and Target, hear the full version of his single "A Different World" at CMT, or enjoy samples of four songs from the CD at Bucky's official MySpace. An autographed copy of Bucky Covington can be pre-ordered at his official site or via his official fan club.

Bucky's Saturday night performance in Portland was the last item on the tour page at his official site for a few days; we'll be able to catch him next from the comfort of our own living rooms on the Live with Regis and Kelly show this coming Wednesday. It'll be Bucky's first live nationwide performance of "A Different World"--be sure to tune in...

Meanwhile, we're waiting for some fun recaps and photos from Bucky's Pacific Northwest visit; come on back here later for links to the latest. And speaking of memories, here's a link we meant to add to our last post. These great photos from Bucky's New 92 viewing party in Columbia are a fun way to start off a Sunday morning--and Rocky's many fans will get a kick out of this collection, too! (Many thanks to Toto for sharing these beautiful shots, and to Happydays for sharing the link; if you're not a Kodak gallery user, a quick free registration may be required.)

Here's a way you can contribute to an possible upcoming article on Bucky; a longtime fan is also the daughter of a journalist, and both would like to know what you'd ask him; the more creative the question, the better. By permission, here's her post from the Bucky Covington fan thread on AI.com about the proposed project, with a target date near the time of his CD release:

She [the poster's mother] writes for a local newspaper, and she has been given permission to write a story about it, using quotes from the interview. If anyone has any questions you would like her to ask him, feel free to PM me.

You can reach her through her profile at the AI boards, or at the new boards on Bucky's official site; they'll be looking for questions until about April 1st. Think up something unusual, and have fun!

Sunday morning means syndicated country radio countdown shows, naturally. Enjoy your favorite cup of coffee and listen to Kix Brooks and American Country Countdown and/or Bob Kingsley's Country Top 40 to see how Bucky's "A Different World" fared this week. (Check Radiotime and Radio-Locator for stations carrying the countdowns near you...)

We'll close with a few quick reminders: voting's still happening for the CMT Pure Country Pure 12-Pack video countdown and GAC's Top Twenty Country Countdown , and "A Different World" is facing its last and perhaps toughest Pick or Flick challenge this week. Click in, spring for a text vote, and give Bucky a boost!

And if you'd like to vote for Bucky in more ways than just a mouse click, that can be arranged too--you can pre-order an autographed copy of Bucky Covington at his newly-redesigned official site, join his street team for free, or go all out and join the official Bucky Covington Fan Club and get that signed CD (among other fun stuff) in the package.

See you later today!

I am wondering which mediabase chart radio stations go by. And also on the weighted chart Bucky dropped down to 33. Im a little confused by that. He has more spins than the 2 people above him. Bucky is also going back up in spins everyday and for the week.

  4. Anon, much of the Mediabase info is confusing to me, too! I hope someone out there is more of an expert than I am; I believe most stations go by the weighted chart.

But you brought up the most important thing, which is that his song is continuing to go up in spins, and that the bullet is still in place. He's a new artist, so when George Strait or Brad Paisley (or Toby) release a new single, Bucky and almost every other newer artist will be bumped back by the polevaulting superstars. (And on the weighted chart, "A Different World" and "Isn't That Everything" were pretty much tied for #30 until George Strait came along and shifted the whole list.)

The good news is that bullet, though. A Regis and Kelly- related bump will help things nicely, as will increased requests by us. Really, the best thing we can do is keep on doing what we're doing--request locally, keep voting in the video countdowns, and generally keep raising awareness of Bucky's great song (and CD).

And of course...remember to have fun with this. Bucky is doing fine--we'll do our part to make sure he's doing even finer as the weeks roll on, so don't let the chart fluctuations get you down! Stay positive...Bucky sure seems to be positive, and with all that's coming up, he--and we--have good reason to be... :)
