News: Bucky at "Cure the Kids" Radiothon, January 26-27

Bucky Covington, heading out to greet fans in Louisville before a concert last summer; photo by the very kind BuckyCrazed. Thank you so much!

Bucky Covington will be part of the first annual Cure the Kids Radiothon to support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. From the press release (via Motorcycle-USA.com):

The radiothon is the first of its kind for western North Carolina. Running for 30 hours over two days, the broadcast will increase awareness of childhood brain tumors and raise money for desperately needed research and family support programs. Beginning this Friday morning at 6 a.m., Kiss Country will begin broadcasting live from the Asheville Mall on 99.9 FM, with volunteers on hand to take donations by phone until 9 p.m. each day. The interactive format will include patient stories, family interviews and celebrity performances, including Ty Herndon and Bucky Covington.

To donate to the radiothon, call 298-2981 in the Asheville area or toll-free 1-877-281-CURE (877-281-2873) from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26 and Saturday, Jan. 27. For more information about the radiothon or childhood brain cancers, visit www.curethekids.org or call the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation at 828-665-6891.

Kiss Country will stream the Radiothon live online--so no matter where you are, you can be part of it all. There's also a fundraising online auction (including a very VIP-style trip to the Academy of Country Music Awards in May) among other fun happenings. You can find out more at the Foundation's site, or visit Kiss Country 99.9 for updates. (Edited to add--looks like Bucky's performance will be an acoustic set at noon on Friday, 1/26! Head over to Team Covington for more details--Winnie)

An update on tonight's previously announced show on www.remix-broadcasting.com; Brandy (of B'sTees in R'ham) will make her DJ debut soon. Brandy-wine's 9 @ 9 will feature the music of her Top 9 Favorite Idols on a rescheduled date--a power outage has caused a delay. (We have a feeling a certain rising country singer will be on the list.) We'll post the rescheduled airtime as soon as it's available--congratulations, Brandy!

More news later this morning...
