Exclusive interview at AmericanIdol.com

One last wave goodbye; Bucky Covington during American Idol's country night, April 2006.

Bucky Covington's future is looking exceptionally bright--which is exactly why this exclusive interview posted at the American Idol homepage today is a sweet and sentimental read. Among many other smile-inspiring details, there's an interesting bit of new information about Bucky's debut single:

His first single, “A Different World”, will hit the country music airwaves on January 16th. According to Bucky, it’s already making a big impression. He talked to a local deejay that somehow got a hold of the single and has already begun playing it on his station. The deejay told Bucky that, after the first night of playing it, they had 62 requests for it the next morning. Bucky is not surprised, however, at the rapid success of the song. He, himself, “fell completely in love with it” the first time he heard it. It was sent to him by a man named Doug Howard, and Bucky couldn’t be more thrilled with it. For Bucky, a good song is really about the melody. However, he does admit that people of all ages will really be able to relate to the lyrics as well, as the song is about the innocence of youth.

Be sure to catch this very graceful bit of closure on the AmericanIdol.com front page tonight. See you soon!
