Evening radio post (and more)

Bucky Covington, photographed by the very talented Honeygirl during his Rockingham homecoming performance in October. Click the image to enjoy her beautiful Flickr photoset. Thanks, Honeygirl!

Tonight's "countdown and challenge" post kicks off with WKML's "Top 5 at 6"; will Bucky Covington's "A Different World" jump from Number Two to be the most requested song on the countdown tonight? Listen to the online stream at 6 p.m. ET, and stay tuned--we'll have the results for you here later this evening. (Edited with results--Bucky's single was Number Two on the countdown. Kudos to all who requested today, and a big thanks to the_mumbler for the update!)

And Bucky's winning streak on Boise's KQFC is going strong--tonight, the station will spin "A Different World" against one last challenger. A victory tonight means Bucky retires from the songfight as an undefeated champion! KQFC streams online, so listen in starting at 9 p.m. ET to find out how to cast your vote, and as always, check the Fox boards for updates as well. More details and results as the night goes on. (Edited with results: So close! "A Different World" enjoyed a four-day winning streak in Boise, but came in second tonight by three votes. Three! Yep, your calls matter, y'all!)

Finally, a request from a kind reader--if anyone out there has info or media from GAC's Monday night (1/22) Sound and Speed coverage, please drop an email our way--sounds like Bucky and Mark Miller might have been interviewed together. Thanks for any help!

  1. No luck with a stream today--hoping someone will pop in with the results this evening. My apologies! It's been a strange tech day all around, y'all.

Bucky was #2 tonight on the Top 5 at 6 countdown. Jason Michael Carroll was #1 I believe.

  7. Oh well--we gave it our best, and four nights is a great run! No doubt Bucky will be part of the regular KQFC playlist with all those votes this week, and that's the main goal.

Besides, we all know how to spell "country" now, so it was an educational week, too... :)
