Here's a bit of heartwarming detail from the GAC Christmas concert last night in Florence, courtesy of dbrosch:
Bucky's grandparents also attended the concert and there was a very special moment when he invited them on stage and sang his new song Different World to them. All the performers and many in the audience had tears in their eyes during the song.
Steve Azar said he didn't know Bucky had a twin until they got to this Florence show... Bucky had Rocky stand up and he took a bow to the crowd. Sounded like a great concert. :)
Congratulations to all who were there for what must have been a very special evening among Bucky's family and friends. (And a huge thanks to dbrosch for sharing this lovely moment.) More soon...
Edited to add a fun bonus from Lisa/letusjudge--a generous Blue County fan posted three terrific photos from the Canton show in her HappyBirthdayCovingtons MySpace comments section Friday evening. (Scroll to the 6:02 p.m. entry, and you're sure to smile...)
Lisa also shared more info about tonight's show, based on the conference call--she mentioned that it was either Scott Reeves or Aaron Benward who called Bucky's grandparents to the stage, and who introduced them to the audience with a warm and respectful tribute. (She's hoping someone captured this incredible memory on video...we hope so too.) Thank you, Lisa!
Tonight, of course, Christmas at the Tennessee makes its debut on GAC. It's also Bucky Covington's first real opportunity to shine as an emerging country performer--rather than a "contestant" or an "Idol"--before a national television audience. (And he is definitely going to shine.) If you're one of the fortunate viewers with GAC as part of your cable lineup, this is a milestone in his blossoming career that you won't want to miss. Congratulations, Bucky!
Back later this morning with an update--see you soon.
Oh I hope someone got that on video.
ReplyDeleteIt was an emotional time at Bucky Bash when the boys got Grandpa Buck and Grandma up on stage. I am sure last nite was just a emotional if not more. I hope it was caught on camera or video for the family.
ReplyDeleteThat must have been an unforgettable moment. Here's hoping there are lots of clips and photos out there for the family to treasure...
