"Beyond the Buzz" is over for the week--and the year--but Sirius is still interested in what you have to say about Bucky's beautiful debut single, or about any of the tunes you heard tonight. If you'd like the names of all the songs in this evening's show, hit the handy unofficial It's on Sirius auto-refreshing page, where the playlist will be available for a few hours. Bucky's "Different World" graced the airwaves at 9:33, and "I Get To" by Bucky's buddies Blue County got a spin at 10:38.
Feel free to put in a good word for Bucky and all your favorites via the blue "Send Us Email" link just below the New Country logo on the channel's home page.
(From what I can gather, the response during the "Beyond the Buzz" program determines whether or not a song makes it to "Buzz Cut" status. New Country spins two Buzz Cuts each hour during regular programming--that's a nice bit of potential airplay for "Different World". Our opinion really does matter...)
Bucky's on the radio! What a wonderful way to wrap up an amazing year--and what a great way to start a 2007 full of even more of Bucky's music to celebrate.
See you soon!

I've been playing that little gift that Deb so kindly made over and over again. I'm so glad that this was the song he chose as his first single and not some "all the little ladies love me and my truck" kind of song. It's a an honest, heartfelt song that isn't overly sappy or tearjerking. It just feels like a Bucky song.
ReplyDeleteYou know, you've got a very good point there--there's something universal about a song like this one, and it's sweet and easygoing without being the least bit corny.
ReplyDelete(And I am giggling about the "little ladies love my truck" theme! Judging by what I've been hearing on the radio lately, the playlists might be a little bit overstocked on that lyrical motif at the moment, so kudos to Bucky for taking the exit ramp from that trend.)
I absolutly LOVED Buckys first single. However im not impressed that sirius never played any comments. We all know there were lots of calls. I was one of them. I wish Bucky could be givin the credit we all know he deserves. Im tired of him being passed over. Sorry, but thats just how I feel.

Hi, Marzy!
ReplyDeleteI agree--it would have been great to have one of our (many!) calls on the air tonight. At least we know that both on air and off air calls count as votes of confidence--but yep, if they spin it next week, they're just gonna have to get one of us on the air to sing Bucky's praises...
Of course, the very best thing would be so many positive calls that it gets promoted "beyond the buzz" right away. Fingers crossed that "Different World" becomes a "Buzz Cut" soon and gets played during regular programming, too.
Just rambling and wanted to add...I do kinda like Trace Adkins' "Ladies Love Country Boys"--for Trace. Trace already has a string of hit singles (including one serious-themed ballad) behind him, so a fun song like that is fine for him. But a tune like that wouldn't have worked as Bucky's first single (especially with a current hit along those lines on the radio right now.) "Different World" is an excellent choice, musically and lyrically--not too poppy or gimmicky, which is great for a new artist starting off.
ReplyDeleteI bet there is a bit of sly country humor on Bucky's first album, though... :)
