Quick update, 12/3

(Edited to add a little more Corinth and Wichita info--see end of post.)

Tonight's GAC Christmas concert in Murray, Kentucky is the perfect way to wrap up a weekend of holiday shopping and preparations; tickets are still available, and at only $24 a seat, why not treat a few friends to a terrific evening? The kind poster at CMT returned to Bucky's thread there yesterday with a little more info about the snow-bound (but clearly enjoyable) Tulsa blizzard gig; if the show's that memorable when things don't go as planned, imagine what it'll be like tonight...

(Um, we think Murray's in the clear as far as blizzard conditions go this evening. But here's the Weather Channel's forecast, just in case. Maybe we should put that weather link in our sidebar?)

And speaking of bringing friends, there are several Bucky fans from the Fox boards who'd like to bring you along for the fun tonight--looks like a conference call is in the works! Stay tuned to the GAC concert thread there for updates. We'll be here following the posts as well, with info and news about the show for all who are unable to access the Fox boards. (I promise to drink lots of coffee and stay up until the job is done...) Major thanks go to everyone who is working to coordinate the cell-concerts on this tour.

If you were among the lucky people who got your questions in to Mrs. Jones for Bucky's interview, your answers are coming next week--and from the update on Bucky's Artist News page there, he's just as curious about the questions as we are about the answers! Thanks to Beesims for the heads-up, and keep checking for that all-important Q and A.

And there's a Q and A coming to Rocky's official site soon, too. December's shaping up to be quite a fun news month for Covington fans...and don't forget to check Rocky's news page for your chance to catch him live on stage later this month.

Bucky's official site is in the finishing stages, with a group of very dedicated pros working hard behind the scenes--between the cybersquatting problem that Bucky mentioned during his WRKO interview (most of the good domain names, including "BuckyCovington.com" are "parked" at the moment), the happy surprise of the GAC tour, and a busy recording schedule, the website plans and timing have gone through a number of changes. The good news is that the general direction has been forward, and we should get word about Bucky Covington's official online home shortly. (The moment it's confirmed, I will share the link and the news with you right here in big, bold font--that's a promise.)

Last, but definitely not least, one of Bucky's fans had some very sweet words to say about him in this morning's Southeast Missourian; scroll down for a lovely tribute to Bucky's presence on the GAC tour by a local reader. (There's gonna be a lot of Bucky-love at the Show Me Center, that's for sure...)

Edited to add a few tidbits about last night's Corinth show--a fan talked to a spokesman for the venue who said that the crowd was smallish, but he was able to hear Bucky's set, it was "great", and that the audience responded "really well" to Bucky. (Bodes well for those new songs we've been hearing about, doesn't it?)

Another fan contacted a GAC concertgoer who went to the snowy Wichita show; she
posted some fun details on the Fox boards. "American Friday Nite", the new tune we got a tip about earlier this week, was the second of Bucky's songs that evening, and it got a thumbs-up from the audience member, who apparently wasn't a biased Bucky fan going into the show--but Bucky made a very favorable impression, as you'll see. Read it and enjoy, and thanks to the kind poster for sharing!

And another edit--scroll down a little further in that same thread for a fun review from a Julie Roberts fan. Bucky sang "Suspicious Minds and "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" at their concert along with two other songs, and the writer reports that he's a "super nice guy." Bucky is definitely making new fans out there in the winter wonderland...

Go to this show, people. This is a great lineup of performers at a price that can't be beat.

See you later today!
