There's a lot of excitement happening this morning! Along with Leaf's excellent recap of the Murray GAC Country Christmas concert, and that fun Blue County "truck stop" video clip, the whispers about Bucky's imminent official corner of the web (a site, a MySpace, or both) are growing ever louder. We don't have confirmation as of this post--and with my luck, I'll be at work when the news breaks!--but keep an eye out, and feel free to post any announcements in comments. With all of the recent deletions at the Fox boards (both the GAC tour thread and the conference call thread vanished last night), and with Season Six around the corner, the news will be more than welcome, whenever it comes...
And there are some important street team/promotional topics to note, as well. The fan-led initiative to get Bucky's GAC tour news on the American Idol homepage is still going strong; along with Steve's "post support at the Fox Reality boards" suggestion, there's strong encouragement to send an email to the Fox Idol comments box-- idol.web@fox.com. Let them know you're proud of Bucky--Idol should be, too...
And the GAC show is stirring up some major interest from fans of all the performers as it gets going--if you're familiar with your local country music station, why not let them know you'd love to hear more about it on their air-waves? A Knoxville fan wrote a beautiful letter to a lady she's very familiar with at her favorite local country station, and she shares it here; if you're on less personal terms with your country-format station, even a simple "Hey, Deana Carter, Bucky Covington, Steve Azar, Julie Roberts and Blue County are going to be in town--any plans for interviews?" note is just fine. Requesting the artists (with a mention that you're planning on seeing them live) is a very good idea, too. Keep checking that thread for more; I'll try to look for some ideas as well, and I'll share what I find in this evening's post.
Last (and probably least, but a major happy-dance inspiration for me), I will definitely be at the Canton, Ohio GAC Country Christmas concert! I am so excited, y'all. Hope to see you there on the 13th...
Once again, here's the Ticketmaster link for tonight's Show Me Center concert in Cape Girradeau, Missouri, and I'll post the ticket link for Wednesday's Knoxville show at the Tennessee Theater, too--that's the one that GAC is filming for broadcast in the 16th, if memory serves. Now that we know how much fun this show is going to be, the tickets are going to be flying faster and faster--so be sure to snag yours.
It's off to work I go (sigh--work does get in the way of fan time) but I shall return. More later--enjoy this wintry Monday!
Hi Guys,
ReplyDeleteI'm Shirley and I help run the my space site for Blue County. I'm so glad to see you all behind Bucky and supporting my favorite guys in the meanwhile. From what I have seen and heard, Bucky is awesome, so I can't wait to meet him. And he is from NC, like me, so I'm really excited to meet him. :)
Thanks for being so nice to my buds, Scott and Aaron. You guys rock!
Shirley
Hi, Shirley!
ReplyDeleteSneaking in for a second to thank you for stopping by. You know, one of the great things about this tour is that we get a chance to hear some artists we might have never experienced in concert before. Scott and Aaron are terrific and I am really looking forward to hearing them live! It's going to be a blast. (It'll be my first Blue County show, but I can tell already it's going to be the first of many...)
Thanks for your kind words about Bucky, too--as you can imagine, we're elated. I think we've all got some wonderful music to look forward to in the months and years ahead. :)

Hey there, Becky and Dina! Becky, I am so happy to hear that you'll be at the Toledo show--from the cell-concert last night, I can tell your husband's going to be impressed with the whole show (and with Bucky.) It's really a great lineup of singers. Maybe he won't think it's so "weird" after he hears some of that awesome new music! :) It is freezing here in Ohio, isn't it? Wow. Winter has sprung.
ReplyDeleteAnd Dina, lol! What can I say, I'm a "hopeful" person. :D I'm way excited--counting down the days here. Just..um, "hoping" the big snows stay away.... :)
