Tonight, the Cotillion in Wichita is the place to be--the GAC Country Christmas show is about to begin, and Deana Carter, Steve Azar, Blue County, Julie Roberts and Bucky Covington are ready to warm up this cold November night! If you haven't picked up your tickets yet, click that link above or hit the sidebar for the tour schedule and all the information you'll need.
And if you already have snagged a great seat, here's a little more data about what Bucky has in store for you, courtesy of the very generous Listening Ears. Along with "Different World" (described as "100% country"), Bucky is said to be debuting another original song entitled "American Friday Nite", which reportedly has a "younger sound". No word on whether or not either of these tunes will be the official single--it could be that one of Bucky's other recently recorded tracks will take the honors. What we do know for sure is that January will bring a Bucky Covington single. (Gotta love that news!)
We'll be listening for more on these fresh new tunes as the tour gets going--chances are good that the Wichita Eagle will have a review of the show in their Entertainment section tomorrow morning, so bookmark that link and enjoy...
And there's even more to look forward to--Bucky's very-much anticipated official site could be up as soon as a day or two from now, and word has it that will be initially run through MySpace. (So if you haven't created a MySpace account yet, now's the time.) We'll definitely keep you posted with confirmation and details as soon as they're available. A million thanks to Listening Ears for the info!
(Edited to add a newsflash from RockyCovington.com--Rocky and Swamp Cat will be performing at Pontiac Pointe in Albemarle on 12/22, and at Marrz in Wilmington on 1/12/07. Check the news page at Rocky's official site for more shows as the winter marches on.)
More later--enjoy the night!
Hi
ReplyDeleteIt's near blizzard conditions in Witchita. I hope Crystal packed Bucky's warm woolies. It's so exciting to think that this is his first gig as Bucky Covington, future country music star and not as an Idol. It was a balmy 60 degrees in NY today but I would trade it in a heartbeat to slog through the snow to hear those 2 new songs. Congrats on the scoopage from your pal "listening ear".
Carol
"Future country music star and not as an Idol"--I love the sound of that, Carol. Who would have thought he'd be hitting the road on a major country tour so soon? And yes, the weather in Wichita tonight is frightful indeed--wow. But worth the slog, absolutely--I wish the tour was headed your way.
ReplyDeleteWe'll have to run into each other at a Bucky Covington concert this spring/summer. I believe I owe you a venti-mocha-coffee-of-your-choice. (Even if I didn't, I'd buy you one--cool things seem to happen during your coffee excursions... :)
