Quick update, 10/17

This beautiful, serene graphic by Tracy is the twenty-second entry in our "Bucky Covington CD Cover Un-Contest", and it's as heartfelt as can be. Tracy used a great hot-off-the-press portrait of Bucky at Hugo's by lfesvr, and added a graceful frame in tones of royal blue and black, letting the striking back-and-white photo work its magic. Be sure to visit Tracy's terrific MySpace and enjoy more of her creativity. Thanks, Tracy!

So many links, so little time! This weekend's shows at Hugo's and the Empire Room were so well-documented that it's hard to keep up with all the latest links, but here are a few to get you started. Many thanks to all the generous Covington fans who shared their memories of the weekend!

We've mentioned lfesvr's fun post at the Fox boards with a link to her gorgeous photos from Erin's Victory Dance before, but there's a bonus today in the same thread; the_mumbler (who created some great images for our CD Cover Un-Contest last week) was there too, and she posted a link to her terrific photos and videos. Enjoy!

Sadly, the "Suspicious Minds" thread doesn't yet have any links to Bucky's incredibly cool performance of that classic tune. But a very generous fan there pointed us to her profile, where a link to lots of great stuff from this weekend awaits you...

And this thread is so full of links to great galleries that it's hard to keep up, but here are a few especially beautiful ones--this excellent Photobucket album gives a hint of how sweet the mood must have been at the Victory Dance; a very talented photographer shares her evocative Hugo's photos here with an invitation to "feel free to snag for personal enjoyment", and a third kind fan was fortunate enough to be at both this weekend's shows; she shares links to her well-done albums in her profile at the Fox boards. And this short-but-sweet collection contains some wonderful onstage shots, along with some of the cutest fan-greeting photos ever!

Honeygirl's Flickr set is amazing, too--if you've seen her excellent Idol tour shots, you already know you're in for a treat...

That's only the tip of the iceberg--there will no doubt be plenty more to come. Again, a huge round of applause to everyone who shared their memories with those of us who couldn't be there. Thanks, y'all!

(Edited to add a heads-up , via the Fox boards--Rocky Covington will be playing an all-ages show at the Carolina Grill in Rockingham on Friday, October 27th. No word yet on whether Home Cookin' will be part of the night. [Edited once more--looks like Rocky, Ducky, Scooter, Sammy and JimBob will be playing this show as "Swamp Cat", according to a later post in the thread. Love these band names.] Details on both Rocky and Bucky's latest hometown doings will most likely turn up on Rocky's official site soon. Have fun!)

More later...
