News (and some major server problems)

Tracy's graceful green-and-soft gray collage-style image is the sixteenth entry in our "Bucky Covington CD Cover Un-Contest". (It's a little larger than Blogger's margins allow--please click the image to enjoy it in its full beauty!) Tracy blended screencaps from Bucky's "Best I Ever Had" performance, concert photos and a radiant red carpet shot, then added a beautiful Victorian script font and a simple "Livin' the Dream" tagline to create a truly memorable image of a man having the musical time of his life. Check out Tracy's MySpace for even more of her lovely artwork and graphics. Thanks again, Tracy!

Blogger.com is experiencing major server issues today, so if you see a "500 error" page now and then, just check back in a few minutes--looks like they're working on it. Thanks!--W

Full post soon, but for now there's a new article about Bucky's busy weekend at the Charlotte Observer site. From the story:

Richmond County's Bucky Covington will return home for a performance Friday night in Rockingham.

Covington has formed a band with a group of friends and will perform at Hugo's, a club at 303 East Washington Street. His band, Bucky Covington and Home Cookin', is expected to begin playing about 10:45 p.m. The late start is due to Friday night's big football game between Richmond County and rival Scotland County, which means the club crowd might not arrive until later in the evening.

Covington's band includes his brother, Rocky.

Bucky Covington and Home Cookin' also will perform Saturday night in Greensboro at a benefit event for Victory Junction, the camp built by the Petty family for children with severe illnesses or physical disabilities.

And at the Fox boards, the news is that the song Bucky debuted on WLWL earlier this week is titled "A Lot Like My Hometown". It'll be on Bucky's debut CD, but it won't be on the conference call--the powers-that-be have requested that the song not be streamed. (So it looks as though we'll have to buy the CD to hear this one--not that we weren't very eager to buy Bucky's CD anyway!)

More soon...

  1. Y'all, the ripple effect of my bad handling of this comments section just cost me a friend tonight.

I'm going to miss talking to her, and the whole memory of how I messed up makes me very, very sad.

I'm going to wipe the slate clean here, not out of any desire to censor anyone, but because it's now a painful reminder of a lost friendship.

This is still a free speech comments section, and everyone is welcome to state their views respectfully at any time.

And to my former friend, I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. You're always welcome here, if you ever change your mind.

    Thanks, everyone.
