The biggest news so far today is the LMBO show in Wilkes-Barre...looks like the "pending" gig is now a happening go! Here's the word from The Citizens Voice (link fixed); the venue owner was "surprised" to get inquiries from all over the country:
It’s no surprise, however, for Taylor Hicks "Soul Patrol" fans or supporters of the Little Memphis Blues Orchestra or even curiosity seekers hoping to catch a glimpse of Hicks, who often attends these gigs. They were anxiously awaiting a confirmation venue for what is expected to be the biggest after party in "American Idol" touring history following the final concert of the 2006 season at the Wachovia Arena on Sunday, Sept. 24.
Hicks, the "American Idol winner," is expected to join his fellow band members as he has done during their past gigs on the road following his tour. Hicks is usually accompanied by fellow Idols Ace Young, Elliott Yamin and Bucky Covington.
Tickets are $15 in advance and can be ordered at Etix.com or by calling 919-782-5010. Tickets are $20 at the door. Tickets are expected to be on sale by mid-week.
(Never mind mid-week--the tickets are available today. Go grab one, and maybe I'll see you there. And if you're going, or think you might, please leave a note in comments...if I can make it, I'd love to say hi to you!)
Also, be sure to head over to Team Covington today--Kathy's got a link to some fresh new after-party videos you're going to love--guaranteed. More soon!
I think I am going to go ahead and buy tickets today to tomorrow. Lord I hope Bucky shows up. lol But with it being the last night of the tour together I just can't imagine them not all showing up.
ReplyDeleteYou are putting crazy thoughts in my head. Hmmm...how long to drive to Wilkes Barre from Brooklyn? Hotel for the night? Come in late to work the next day? It would be fun to meet you and other Buckymaniacs. Crazy, right?
ReplyDeleteHey, Carol...putting crazy thoughts in your head is my pleasure. Come on over to Wilkes-Barre! It'd be a blast. I am the very last one who would try to stop you. And it looks like you and I are both in the "crazy" category as far as distance and schedules go--but life needs a little craziness sometimes, doesn't it? It would be terrific to meet you!
ReplyDeleteAnd Kathy, whoo! You are right--I have a feeling they'll all be there. It is the last night before their "real" musical lives (and the wild times ahead) begin, and you know this is going to be an amazing night. So glad they're doing this...
Ok you talked me into it! So when are you getting tickets? I even checked out staying at the hotel but it seemed booked so maybe in another hotel. It is about the same drive for me there as Rockingham was.
ReplyDeletekathy,
ReplyDeleteI went on Expedia and they are showing rooms available at the Woodland. Are you and Winnie planning to go to the Idols concert too? I was thinking of just doing the LMBO show.
You know, I've already been to Etix and back. Couldn't wait! :) I checked the Woodlands too--sure would have been nice to be right there, but it looks like they're totally full. There are lots of places nearby, though--I went to Expedia.com just to look at their hotel maps, and there seem to be plenty of places to choose from. If I find a good deal somewhere I will certainly share the info!
ReplyDeleteHey, Carol--was just posting at the same time you were. There are rooms at the Woodlands? That would be perfect. Haven't decided about the Idols show yet--will probably just to go LMBO, but if I can get a good seat at Wachovia for cheap, might catch the first half of that Idol concert, too. Decisions, decisions...
ReplyDeleteCarolyeah great idea. We are probably just doing the LMBO show too unless we could get last minute good cheap seats lol Would be cool to stay right there but wherever lol Think I am headed to get my tickets now.
ReplyDeleteOk I'm crazy right with ya~! Just bought my tickets. Actually did the mail ones cause my printer is low on ink.
ReplyDeleteOh the insanity! Just bought my tickets for LMBO. Hopefully it will be the best $15 I ever spent on a concert. Buckymania, you are a bad, bad influence!
ReplyDeleteHey, it wouldn't be fun to be anything but! Seriously, Carol, you are going to have a fantastic time--and I have a feeling we'd all be kicking ourselves if we didn't go to this show.
ReplyDeleteGlad you'll be there, and I will warn you that I'm quiet, but an even worse influence in person! :)
