Our connection's still shaky and the ability to upload new photos is gone for now, so--more vintage images! Relive those thrilling days of Bucky on Idol, late-night redialing, and Tuesday nights that meant everything. This great screencap was made by the very talented Kathy of Team Covington and Bucky Covington Fans R Us fame--head to both sites for some brilliant graphics!
It's very, very quiet right about now--the Thursday night Portland, Maine concert (and the LMBO after-party) should more than make up for the current lull. But there's some good stuff to enjoy while you wait for tonight's show to begin--a very generous Kellie Pickler fan at IDF captured much of Atlanta's second concert on video, including Bucky and Kellie's "You're the One That I Want" duet, "Living In America" and "Patience". Enjoy, and thanks to the IDF posters again for sharing so much great media during this tour!
Over at the Fox boards, Bucky's fans are discussing the last few concerts--this well-written recap of the Reading show is both sweet and funny. (Needless to say, I think many of us can relate to that "whoa, it's Bucky!" daze when we saw him on that concert stage for the first time. His two songs are over way too soon, but with any luck, he'll be back on the road again with a much longer set next year about this time...)
And as for recent newspaper reviews--bring back Colin McEvoy, please! The second Hershey show didn't make much of an impression on the writer who reviewed it for the Patriot-News this time around, but we suspect the gentleman is less of a music buff than Mr. McEvoy. He identified Bucky's second tune as "Bill Withers' 'Give Me the Beat Boys' " (it's actually "Drift Away", written by Withers, but the hit version was recorded by Dobie Gray) and Mandisa's "If I Was Your Woman" was attributed to Alicia Keys (Alicia's cover is splendid, but the first version to hit the charts was Gladys Knight's stellar take on the song.) Forgive my oldies-nerd nitpicking, but...um, maybe they should have sent an oldies nerd to review this thing? (Or better yet, Colin McEvoy. Ahem.)
Heading back to the Fox boards, a kind Bucky fan posted a heads-up about Sunday's cellcerts--the Wilkes-Barre concert will be covered at the Concert board (where a lot of love and affection for Bucky is happening in this fun thread) and the LMBO after-party will be covered in Taylor's folder. Will Bucky make an announcement the last night of the Idols tour? Will there be some news from the LMBO show? Stay tuned!
And you know I'm not going to sign off without a link to some fresh new photos, right? I'm...um, still diggin' that hat. Really, I am. Still. Yep! (Kudos and thanks to Mr. Jones for posting these--glad you enjoyed the show, sir.)
Finally, follow this link to MJ's, where a very kind commenter will lead you to some incredible shots of Bucky, Ace, Chris and Elliott at the LMBO show at Antone's. (Coolest candid ever? Could be...)
Back later today--see you in a bit!
I know you love the hat, so I know you will love this one.

Looking forward to meeting you for drinks at the Woodlands. I know you are shy. Don't worry. I am too.
Oh, my.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do love the hat. Thank you!
I am so looking forward to meeting you, too--something tells me that even with the mutual shyness, we'll have a lot to talk about...
