Quick update (and happy anniversary) 8/18

A post-"Superstition" screencap from the Stevie Wonder show; Simon Cowell wishes he had the hair. Head to Team Covington for info on this month's American Idol Magazine, featuring Bucky (and his hair) and more...

A news sweep for your Friday entertainment:

The first newspaper review from last night's Indianapolis show is online, and while the Indianapolis Star's writer didn't come across as a Bucky fan, necessarily--perhaps he didn't know that Bucky and some of the other singers are still recovering from strep?-- he deserves a point for a not-completely-disimissive tone. (Of course an Idol tour is cheesy by nature, but this year's show has some true musical merit to savor, too--it's heartening to see some reviewers give an unironic nod to the talent on display...)

A few fan reviews of last night's show are turning up this morning--here's one from the Fox boards, in which the concertgoer notes that Bucky's youngest fans were really happy to see him. (Awwwww...) Two longer recaps grace the front pages at MJ's Big Blog (link fixed), and many YouTube videos from the Grand Rapids concert (including a lovely "Patience") are linked there as well.

Some photos are emerging, too, including a cute Photobucket album from Grand Rapids, by a fan who was lucky enough to meet the singers (including Bucky) before the show. And there are some pictures that go with this sweet, breathless recap from an Ace fan at IDF, but I can't find them--if you can, please post the link and I'll gladly update! It's worth checking out, even before the pictures are posted--this by-the-buses anecdote cracked me right up:

Bucky also came out, and he got to us before Ace did. He was SO funny and nice and I got a picture with him. We didn't have anything for him to sign, so I gave him my sign that said "Ace Gives Me Butterflies" and he said, "Ace gives you butterflies? Me too!" and he actually wrote "Me too!" on the sign and signed it. LoL haha.gif It was cute. wub.gif

And finally, my friend and neighbor (and new Bucky fan) Dina reminded me that this week marks the six-month anniversary of Buckymania. Time flies when you're having fun! If you're curious about the very first post, here it is. (I was so worried that this talented guy would get lost in the Idol shuffle...) As you can see, my ulterior motives haven't changed a bit--but thanks to his hard work and bright voice, the odds of our getting what we want--Bucky Covington on our radio, TV, CD players and concert stages for a long, long time--have increased exponentially. Thanks, y'all! Here's to the next six months, and many more.

Looking for more goodies for you--I'll try to update again later this afternoon. Enjoy your Friday!

(And Happydays, hi! I've enjoyed your posts and recaps at the Fox boards. Wish you could comment here...sounds like you have the same tech glitch here at Blogger that I have at the AI boards. Thanks for the compliment and for dropping by!)
