First and foremost, a thoughtful fan at the Fox boards just posted a link to a brand new video interview with Bucky Covington at CBS-13 in Sacramento--enjoy! (And if you're so inclined, please leave a recap in comments. I'm under my usual tech limitations and can't see it, but I'd love to know the story...)

From what can be gathered so far, LMBO and Taylor (sans Bucky or any of the Rat Pack, this time) were sizzling hot at Angels in San Jose last night. You can follow the archived play-by-play at the Fox boards, or check last night's comments section at MJs' Big Blog for recaps and fun.

The LMBO afterparty at Herman's Hideaway in Denver is already causing a major buzz--Ace Young graciously gave an interview and a kind thank-you to the Denver Post's Penny Parker, along with some sweet bean-spillage about the guys' plans:

"After the show, there's gonna be a little party with Taylor Hicks' band," Young says. "We're gonna be at Herman's Hideaway and we're gonna do a jam session. We're going to be there till they kick us out."

And who exactly is "we"?

"The whole Rat Pack is going to be there. It's going to be Taylor, Elliott (Yamin), Bucky (Covington) and myself," Young says. "We're gonna get cleaned up and go right over there after the show and just have a jam session with a five-piece band. It's gonna be a lot of fun."

If you're in Denver (you lucky, lucky people) you're in for a major musical treat! And if you're still looking for an Idol show ticket, here's the Ticketmaster link--fingers crossed for a close last-minute release seat for you right up front on September 5th.

Finally, be sure to stop by Team Covington today...Kathy's got some must-see links to her beautiful banners, wallpapers and graphics, and some terrific Bucky Bash photographs you'll love. (Yep, I still wish I could have been there...sigh.)

More coming soon--see you then. Enjoy your Thursday!

  1. Cute video! The reporter tells his co-hosts that Bucky is one of his fave idols because he is such a nice guy. He does compare him to Christopher Penn's character in Footloose lol (I wouldn't mind seeing him dance across a football field with Kevin Bacon now that I think about it!)Bucky says that the whole backstage thing is overrated. He said you always hear about bands having wild parties etc backstage but that it is boring lol and the food isn't usually great. His fave part is being on stage and especially his set becasue he gets to be out there by himself and he just loves being on stage. The guy asked about being recognized and he said he loves it. He did tell of the scariest moment they had with a fan was they were on the bus in the parking lot and a woman just walked up the bus. They (him and E) were like Hey um you can't be here. I love my Bucky but what would possess someone to just open the door and walk on the bus? Sheesh. He said the day before he had rented a Harley and rode up around Folsom and to Lake Tahoe and back.He said "y'all is beautiful up here" (which the host later said that should be the new tourism slogan lol Hey--- y'all is a word I don't know why Cali doesn't get that hee hee The reporter closed saying what a down to earth guy Bucky was.

  2. Oh, man--thank you, Kathy! I would love to see this...Bucky is just a fun guy to interview.

(But yes, that is pretty scary about the fan on the bus. Sometimes I wonder if some people get an odd idea that because they saw these people on TV, they know them and can just throw manners and common sense right out the window. Weird.)

That Harley ride must have been great--that is some gorgeous country out there. (I love the West...)

A million thanks, Kathy! Someday I'll get a new computer...sigh.

  3. I've never been out west but I would love to at some point. I have always wanted to have a whole summer to go in an RV and do a drive cross country. Stop at the Gran Canyon Mt Rushmore, the country's biggest ball of twine lol etc.

Yes some fans act like because we voted for them they owe us something. Ok they should be thankful we phoned in for them and helped them and they are very thankful. But they do not owe us every second of their time. lol Just like Ace in Columbus...I was just kinda standing there not bugging him and he said oh hey I haven't talked to you..he is a sweetie

Please ask everyone to vote for Bucky at moosak.com. This is the last day for rankings. It is presently at 6th but needs more help. Thanks. Good exposure for music execs.

  6. Kathy, when and if gas prices ever go down (sigh), that would be so much fun, RV-ing cross country. But even if the gas remains astronomical, I hope you and your family get to see the West. It is truly beautiful out there--the natural beauty and the silly ball of twine stuff. (Route 66 still has some amazing fun/goofy landmarks!)

And Ace and Bucky are both so sweet with the fans--I think (well, I hope!) that the craziness and Idol-hysteria will die down in time, but the enthusiasm and fun will remain. (I love that Ace made sure to say hello to you...and he was so gentle with that cute little crying girl in Pittsburgh. Nice guys!)
