Back in the New York groove...

(A quick heads-up on the Moosak.com poll--hop over there and give Bucky a little [voting-style] applause. And if you, like me, are new to the Moosak thing, here's their handy FAQ. Thanks to Buckyflowers for the link and the info!)

While the Idols get ready for tonight's Albany show at the Pepsi Arena, the boards are still buzzing about the opening shows in New England--tons of fan reviews out there, and Bucky's inspiring quite a few smiles. From an Elliott Yamin fan at the official boards who went to the Hartford concert:

[Bucky] was a riot. He sounded good and looks to be having a ball. My favorite part was watching him during the group numbers, goofing off with Elliott and Ace. He was hysterical - being really over-dramatic during "We Are The Champions". He was acting like he was singing in an opera.

If you'd like to see Bucky (and Kellie Pickler) having a great time onstage in Hartford, this YouTube album by a generous Soul Patroller might be of some interest. And via the always-lively comments section at MJ's, here's a bit of (high-quality) encore goodness. (Gee, wonder who the photographer's favorite performer was?)

There's also a little recent video from the Fox affiliate in Boston; sadly, my PC won't play it, but there may be a word or two from Bucky in this news segment from Saturday evening.

(Have to cut this short due to a dying computer, but I'm going to try to get a mid-day, pre-show post in later this morning, work permitting--stop on back!)

Hi! Unfortunately, there was no Bucky interview or even sighting in the newscast, but they were very positive about how quickly the 2 concerts in Manchester (or Worcester?) sold out. Glad to see the positive Bucky comment by an Elliott fan. I tend to think that non-Bucky fans are more unbiased about our boy. I hope Bucky learns to take command of the stage and sing out to the audience, making eye contact, instead of singing to himself. Do you think we can get a gig as his performance coaches? Ha ha.

  2. Hi, Grace!

Sorry to hear the "news" (hype? It's a Fox affiliate, after all) segment was Bucky-free. Thanks for recapping it!

You're right about the interesting comments from the non-Bucky fans out there--it's good to get a more objective perspective.

You bring up a good point about stage presence, too. One thing that stood out during his run on the show was Bucky's willingness to work hard, take the valuable advice (and disregard the not-so-valuable stuff), and improve week-by-week...bet you the same goes for this tour/arena experience, and the later concert videos will look very different from the New England clips (although I'm enjoying them immensely).

(And as for that performance coach gig, it's yours with my blessings...I'm waaaaaay too shy in RL to even think about coaching a seventh-grade recital! :)

  8. Your directions are a lot better than the FAQ! Thanks, Buckyflowers--I voted and put the link in the sidebar so it'll be handy for everyone.
