Quick update, 6/27

The Rita Cosby bit last night was a short, sweet spot of fun--a "what we didn't have time to show" package at the end of the hour featured more of her visit with the Idols. During Bucky and Kellie's joint interview, Bucky graciously declared that he too pronounced the "l" in salmon, and was mystified by calamari (musing as to why it wasn't simply called "squid".) Then the zinger--he claimed he let Kellie "take the fall" for the mangled terminology, while he just sat back and watched!

Bucky is a natural-born, quick-witted funny guy, and it seems to me he's become a "must-interview" during general Idol coverage. (If I were in the media's shoes, I'd be sure to get an interview with him, no matter how limited my time--he's a charmer who can be counted on for a solid quote about the music and a funny, smile-inducing observation or two that'll work perfectly for a column or TV segment. Definitely media-savvy, which bodes very well for Bucky's future...)

The transcript from yesterday's Rita Cosby program should be posted by sometime tonight, and a video could turn up at the show's main page. If you missed Bucky last night, be sure to check it out!

In other news, Rocky Covington's recent Freedom Fest performance got rave reviews from the crowd and from his and Bucky's many mutual fans; they're discussing it here, and be sure to look closely for one of the cutest Rocky-and-fan avatars we've ever seen. (Awwwww...)
