All quiet on the rehearsal front so far--that should change, once all of the singers are in Los Angeles again, and the concert preparations go into overdrive. The American Idol sub-site at MTV News should have a behind-the-scenes article or two as the summer goes on; they've been somewhat snarky toward Bucky in the past ("innocence"?), but his post-Idol reputation as an excellent--and funny-- interviewee should make for some interesting reading there later.
Over at Idolforums, Bucky's appearances in the first two Pop Tarts preview videos are getting positive reviews from posters who (I suspect) are closer in age to the target market for the tasty toaster treats than Bucky or I would be. (Not that there aren't some adult Tarts fans out there. Unfortunately, my local grocer didn't have the "specially marked boxes" as of yesterday. Ask me how I know...sigh.)
The "Fat Bottomed Girls" love continues--one of the advantages of Bucky's leaving the show on a high note is that everyone best remembers the night he rocked the house! We mentioned the MSNBC writer's wish for a full version of the song in concert; the fans at the official board agree whole-heartedly, it seems. And if you'd like a fun, bittersweet blast from the past, check out the comments thread from that April night at Rickey.org. That rather nice photo at the top opens up to wallpaper size if you click it, and the other goodies on the page are not to be missed. If Randy Jackson's "that was kinda like a Bucky concert" comments were any indication, that performance sold a lot of tickets last month.
(Did I mention that I absolutely cannot wait to see Bucky Covington perform live in concert? I have? Since my very first full post on this blog? All righty then...)
Another huge thank you to the talented Vinman, the generous Miranda, gracious "Blu", and the kind people at Bucky Country and Carriefans for their efforts on the Country Fever Fest project. The end result is terrific--much gratitude, y'all! (If you're wondering what the fuss is all about, visit either site for details, and be sure to say hi and thanks!)
Finally, to "fivemutts"--thanks for stopping by and for your lovely note! I tried to reply, but your spam filter snagged my email. You're very kind. Take care!
More later...
