Busy day in real life, but fairly quiet on the Idol front. (Sigh.) There'll be more news later--until then, how about a little general tour-related news sweep?
Edited to add--here's the latest on the much-anticipated Carrie Underwood fan footage from Country Fever Fest in Pryor, Oklahoma (Bucky and Sawyer Brown are included, as well):
I just went to the post office and mailed it overnight to vinman, so it should reach him tomorrow afternoon and then we will just all wait for him to get it here on carriefans for us. Also, this video is ONLY for u guys and carrie-forever. No other site! So.. I just hope you guys enjoy it all, we really did try to get it good for ya'll. Now u can each feel as tho u was really seeing Carrie in her homestate perform!Sounds like fun--many, many thanks to the kind Carrie Underwood fans who've stopped in here and at other Bucky Covington fan sites and boards to share info!
Bucky gets a fairly complimentary (we think) mention toward the end of this long and snarky MSNBC article about the upcoming tour--yep, another "Fat Bottomed Girls" kudo. (She'd like to hear a full version in concert--hey, it could happen...)
And in this sweet Richmond, Virginia Times-Dispatch article about Elliott Yamin's road ahead, there's a little bit of info for New Hampshire Idol fans--watch out for visiting pop stars, y'all:
On June 30, the top 10 finalists will fly to Manchester, N.H., for a few days of fine-tuning before the tour launches there July 5. With shows through Sept. 24 -- many of them second dates added after immediate sellouts -- "American Idols Live" is among the five tours generating the most interest, according to Pollstar, a concert industry trade magazine.
(Here's to a speedy recovery for Elliott's lovely mother, Claudette...)
The story also contains a little clarification about Idol contract restraints--the singers are bound to the show's contract for 90 days after the finale, and can't officially entertain any offers. (Unofficially, of course, there's likely been a whole lot of "entertaining" going on.)
At the official boards, there's a movement brewing--a lot of the fans there would like a televised tour special, similar to the one for Season Two. (Remember Clay's microphone woes and Ruben's self-appointed "wife"?) Another thread is filled with joy and exasperation over the very tight ticket situation, with a few tips on eBay and broker strategies.
And a little trivia--as of now, the average eBay ticket price is $182 per seat, and a total of over $15,000 in Idol concert tickets have been sold on eBay, according to an eBay seller-information site. We'll check it out again later in the season to see how those numbers are trending.
Finally, the behind-the-scenes "webisodes" are set to begin tomorrow at the Pop-Tarts Idol page. (I won't be able to see this until I get my PC problems sorted...if you can, please leave a review in comments! Can't wait to sample the cheesy goodness...)
More later!
