(We really did make it through the rain...and hail...and tornado warnings here in the Great Lakes! Glad to be back online...)
Here's a very quick sweep of what's happening right now:
First and foremost, if you haven't been to Bucky Covington Online lately, head over there now--the "Cool Links and Photos" page has been updated with awesome shots of the Covington family at the finale, and the main page has new info about the Greensboro concert get-together and the "Rocky Rally" the weekend of July 28th/29th. (Rocky and Caddy Wampus will be playing at Hugo's in Rockingham that weekend--I wish I could be there!) There's a promised "sit-down" interview with Bucky at his official site soon, too. Bookmark the page and stay tuned...
Bucky's performance last night is still causing a complimentary buzz--Billy Bush of Access Hollywood had this to say in his post-finale report: "Bucky Covington surprised the heck out of me with "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head"...you know he was dreading that, as it could not be more opposite to his style. He over delivered."
And from Reality TV Calendar's blogger: "Bucky Covington sounded and looked great. His "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head" during the Burt Bacharach segment made me wonder why I ever thought he wasn't very good."
This terrific performance shot came from an incredibly cool (and fast growing) photo thread at Idolforums. Plenty of super red carpet, performance and fan photos of all the Idols there--a little slow loading on dial-up, but worth the wait. (Thanks, Vickie!)
And there's a very sweet story behind the ring Bucky's wearing on his right hand in this shot; click here and prepare to smile...
Finally, Kathy of Team Covington fame has a funny and thoughtful recap of the finale and the season of Idol in general, along with a truly beautiful graphic from that uber-cool "guys medley". (I think the sight of those handsome young men striding out in black sold a lot of concert tickets today. Just a guess.) Enjoy!
More later--working on a tour and ticket update for you...
Edited to add: The Idol finalists will appear on Entertainment Tonight today. (You can find out when the show is on in your area at the ET site--click the "Watch ET" link, enter your zip code and voila. Thanks, Becky!)

Hi, Becky! ET was definitely kind of revealing, wasn't it?
ReplyDeleteHmmm...you know, the last time I really watched Idol (Season 2), they did an "On The Road" special about the tour, with scenes from the bus, etc. It'd be cool to have a special for this season...
The guys seem to have bonded pretty solidly. Hope that's true of both buses, because that's a long time to be in a small space together, to say the least!
(And yes, this humidity's crazy!)
And hi, Vicki from Singapore! Thanks for the link--I popped over there and read it. You're right, some of those comments weren't very nice. Guess I'll look on the bright side...at least two of the participants seemed to have warmed up to him.
It'll be interesting to hear what reviewers have to say as Bucky's post-Idol career (which I truly think will be great) goes on. I believe his finale performance really turned some music writers' heads in a positive way. (Not all of them, but some! :)
Well they sure are going to earn there money this summer. Is there more concert dates then before?Did you get a good seat in columbus.Well going hunting for Bucky stories I'll let you know if I find any. Becky
