(Edited to add a link we missed a week ago; Stewart Pittman's always-excellent Lenslinger blog is well worth a bookmark anyway, especially if you're a news junkie like me--and the occasional Bucky-related post makes it even more of a must-visit. Many thanks to Becky for the heads up.)
It's another fairly quiet day for Bucky's supporters--well, it's actually more of a "calm before the party" Friday for those who'll be on the road to the Bucky Bash in Rockingham. (There should be plenty of news from the Bash as soon as Saturday night...stay tuned.)
And for those of us who won't see Bucky until the Idol tour hits our neck of the woods, here's a fun blast from the past; for the past couple of years, MTV.com has done a series of "behind the scenes" articles which give a good inside look at the fun that's in store for Bucky and company. You can check out the backstage antics of the Season 3 Idols here; Season 4's singers charm the writer (and the audiences) over here. Can't wait to read about what the current season's bunch will be up to this summer. (Bucky, Elliott and Taylor on a bus...yep, there'll be some stories for MTV to tell...)
In that radio interview we linked to yesterday, Bucky mentioned that he and some of the others were really looking forward to "performing for the people, not so much for the cameras." It's very safe to say that we the people are looking forward to it, too! I've always had a gut feeling that Bucky Covington is going to be an amazing live performer, and I'll go so far as to say right here and now that I think he's going to come out of this summer tour with a "must see" reputation for his eventual solo touring career. (Bookmark this page, and come back in May 2008. Bet I'm right.)
If you're curious as to how past tours were greeted by passionate younger Idol fans (or if you're like me, and haven't been to one of these Idol concerts in ages), you can catch up on past posts in the concert archives at Idolforums--definitely wild reading, and a good overview of the cheesy delight that is Pop-Tarts Presents American Idols Live. (Yes, I am actively and shamelessly trying to lure the Kellogg's Viral Marketing Crew over here to post that presale password when it's time. Click that link and help a sister out.)
More actual news later, I hope--see you soon...
