First and foremost, via TWoP, here's a link to WBLI in Long Island, where Bucky's listed as a "special guest" on tomorrow's morning show. The station offers streaming audio, so be sure to be there early Thursday and enjoy another witty interview. (There's also a link to a past Bo Bice interview on that same page, for Bucky and Bo's mutual fans.)
And at FoRT, a poster mentions a radio interview from yesterday with her radio station (no call letters in the post, but if you have a link, please tell us) in which Bucky spoke a little--only a little--more about his conversation with Sawyer Brown's Mark Miller. There's a tiny mystery over at Idolforums, too--did anyone else catch this brief Fox News mention of Bucky's Nashville journey?
Meanwhile, we seem to have missed a lot during our computer's downtime! Over at Rickey.org, a commenter recaps the results of yesterday's "virtual vote for contestant eight" (that would be Bucky, of course) over at the official boards. Turns out over 22,000 (!) votes were posted before the server crashed and the moderators pulled the plugs. (Thanks, Bucky Country, for catching us up. Talk about a wild ride...)
If you missed out on much of yesterday's media blitz, never fear--KathyG722's awesome new Team Covington blog will get you right up to date with fresh links, fun commentary, and lots of her magnifcent screencaps and graphics. Get over there now! (And don't miss her most recent post as of this hour--a link to Bucky's homecoming video, as covered by News 14 Carolina.)
We're working on a big post full of info and strategies for the upcoming
See you later today!
So I have never been to the tour. Is it hard to get tickets usually?
ReplyDeleteHi there!
ReplyDeleteWell, it isn't necessarily hard to get tickets, but it can be tricky to get good ones. I haven't been to the tour since '03 (the Ruben/Clay year, which was insane, ticketwise), but there were people who always managed to get great seats without spending a billion on brokers. I'm going to try to gather all the tips and tricks for us Bucky supporters.
And part of the reason why is (sentimentality warning!) I just think it would be cool for Bucky to see people who came to listen to him in some of the good seats. When I went in '03, one finalist's fans were so dominant in the floor front rows that I kind of felt bad for the other performers, even though I was there to see the Popular Guy, myself. Believe me, I know how Hallmark-y that sounds, but I can't help it. The first major tour is a big thing for any performer.
As for the color thing, I'm not sure when that started, but I think it's been going on for as long as I can recall. Guess it began as just another way of letting people know who you came to see--but the year I went, I noticed that newspaper reviewers picked up on the color thing too, and a few, I think, mentioned it in their reviews as a way of sorting out who was most popular where.
(I think the color thing is kind of silly, myself...but hey, it's fun, and the whole Idol concert business is so dang OTT cheesy anyway that a bit of extra silliness can't hurt. =)
Awwwww :) Thats really nice. Represnt, Bucky fans!!!
