Quick Thursday news: Bucky Covington concert video, Olney seats going fast, Fuddfest M&G shots and more...

Ashley Miles of Mason Vixon joined Bucky Covington and his band for this fun spin on the Georgia Satellites' "Keep Your Hands to Yourself" during Bucky's set last week at the Recher Theatre in Towson, MD. Many thanks to for sharing this video at YouTube! For your chance to see Bucky live and loud, click here.

It's a relatively quiet day (so far), but the summer's been full of anything-but-quiet Bucky Covington concert memories--and if you happened to be one of the lucky fans at the Fuddfest earlier this year, you might find yourself pictured with Bucky in this beautiful meet and greet gallery by Krisp Photos. (There's still time to get in on the meet-and-greet fun; if you're not already a member of Bucky's official fan club, join now and get your request in soon.)

A vintage concert memory: Rocky Covington, Ducky Medlock and Bucky Covington rock the crowd at the Fresno Fair in this exciting concert shot by the very kind Minnie. (Please click the image to view it full size.)

Bucky himself is taking it semi-easy for now--yesterday, he tweeted about "yard work" (his quotes!), but another round of live concerts is coming up soon, starting with the the Breathitt Heritage Fair in Jackson, KY on October 1st and the Snorty Horse Saloon in Columbia, MO on October 8th. That Snorty Horse date is listed on Bucky's official site, by the way--make your plans, and have a wild and wonderful time.

We'll close with a reminder about that show at the Holiday in Olney, IL on Friday, November 11th; tickets are available now via the Olney Events site or by phone at 618-843-0617, and a sellout is expected. Snag your seats ASAP! More very soon...

Video: Meet Bucky Covington's band, introducing Weston Burt, and stunning Family Day photos from the 459th ARW

Ever wanted to meet Bucky Covington's band? The talented captured this intro and encore video in Alpena, MI a little while back, and we thank her for her kindness. Bucky Covington and his band still have stops left on this year's sizzlin'-hot Hometown Tour--click here for his official tour page, and be sure to check out Buckytown USA and Bucky's Twitter, too.

It's a slowish news day, but we're happy to add another introduction to the very stylish ones you just saw on Moya's great video. Singer/songwriter Weston Burt sent an announcement to his followers on Twitter about his autumn plans; "Hey fans! I'm excited to announce that I will be going on tour with Bucky Covington this fall!" Be sure to check out his website, and get set to say "hi" to Weston and Bucky in October and/or November!

Bucky's summer was just as eventful; a couple of weeks or so ago, he played a very special show at Andrews AFB to honor the men and women of the 459th Air Refueling Wing and their families. There's a big and beautiful photo album from the day at the 459th ARW's Media Gallery, including this absolutely priceless shot of Bucky and Rocky Covington looking ready for take-off. (Yep, it's hard to pick a favorite Bucky and Rocky photo, but that one's a gem for sure...) Enjoy browsing the photos--and feel free to join us in a hearty thanks to the 459th ARW for their service.

Just a reminder: Bucky's next show happens on October 1st at the Breathitt Heritage Fair in Jackson, KY, and we hope you'll be there, too. More soon--enjoy the day!

A tidbit about Bucky Covington's new album, and winter concert dates via Buckytown...

Thanks again to the very kind Lacypony for this great photo of Bucky Covington on stage in Yakima, WA.

There's a little bit of buzz about a possible cut on Bucky Covington's long-awaited second album--it looks like once again, Bucky's working with some of Nashville's very finest. From esteemed singer/songwriter Pete Sallis' bio on Reverbnation: " In 2009, Pete got a cut on a song called “Good To Joe”, which was produced by Mac McAnally for the upcoming Bucky Covington album."

Mac McAnally
is the legendary singer-songwriter/multi-instrumental session musician/producer behind many, many country hits...including the #1 "Thank God for You", which he co-wrote with Sawyer Brown's Mark Miller. (Yep...this album's gonna be well worth the wait!) No word yet on a final track list for Bucky's return to the country album charts, but we're all ears.

Be sure to bring your ears (and a few good friends) to Columbia, MO's Snorty Horse Saloon on October 8th. Bucky and his band are now listed on the Snorty Horse's Shows page, and tickets for the concert ($15) are available now. The venue's Twitter is a busy one, too--ticket giveaways seem to be part of the fun, so follow them and keep an eye out for your chance to win.

Rocky Covington serenades the fans at the Central Washington Fair in Yakima. Thanks again to Lacypony!

The Snorty Horse date is not yet listed on Bucky's official concert schedule, but it's looking pretty good--and our friends at Buckytown USA have filled in some blanks about a few other technically unlisted but likely winter dates. Bucky will return to the Holiday in Olney, IL on Friday, November 11th, according to the Olney Events website. (We love the blurb for this one--Rocky Covington and Ducky Medlock get namechecked as "our favorites!") Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Wednesday, September 28th at 5:00 pm) in the lobby of the Holiday or online, so bookmark this page and get ready for a great night!

The following evening, party with Bucky and the band at The Pulse in Jacksonville, IL; tickets will be $15 in advance and $20 at the door, according to Fran. The venue doesn't seem to have an official site, but their Facebook is pretty lively; Fran lists (217) 243-3555 as the number to call for info. (Big thanks again to her for the news.)

Have a great day--we'll see you soon!

Monday Musings: Bucky Covington concert update, WGLR interview podcast, Expo photos and more...

Bucky Covington (with Ducky Medlock and Luc Nyhus) performed "Silly Girl" at the National Man Expo in Aberdeen, MD on Sunday--huge thanks to for posting this terrific video at YouTube.

Bucky Covington had a busy weekend--he enjoyed some live music and the company of good friends (jncluding the awesome Elliott Yamin) in Nashville on Friday, he sang at the National Man Expo on Sunday, and he shared the fun--and a few photos--on his official Twitter, as well as posting Expo photos by Ken Rochon on his official Facebook. Follow him, y'all!

Thanks to the talented Moya for this luminous concert photo from Bucky Covington's performance in Alpena, MI.

Our good friend Fran at Buckytown USA has most of the morning's news covered--including the Facebook link above, and a fine video of "Silly Girl" taken at on Sunday by . We couldn't resist posting it, too...consider it an encore, maybe? The song will be part of Bucky's second album, I'm Alright, which is rumored to be on its way to us early next year on eOne. We're hoping for an official label announcement very soon.

If you'd like to hear lots of songs from that new album live, you'll have plenty of chances in October; Bucky and his band start the month off with a show at the Breathitt Heritage Fair in Jackson, KY on October 1st, an October 8th stop at the Snorty Horse Saloon in Columbia, MO (this one's not on Bucky's official concert list at post time, so call ahead before driving long distance), a show at the State Theater in Starkville, MS on October 21st (tickets available online now at TicketBiscuit) and a free show at the Bluffs and Bayou Music Festival at the Vidalia Conference and Convention Center in Vidalia, LA on October 22nd.

Finally, a little ear candy for those who might have missed Bucky's interview on WGLR a while back; his conversation with Rob Spangler has just been added to the station's Bonus Audio section, and it's a keeper. Enjoy, and we'll see you soon!

Weekend starters: A belated happy birthday to Mrs. Gates, and a photo from Bucky Covington via Twitter...

First and foremost, we'd like to wish Bucky and Rocky Covington's mother, Debbie Gates, a very belated and very happy birthday! Hope it was wonderful...

Famed photographer Kristin Barlowe created this classic portrait of Bucky Covington for his first album's promo; yesterday, Bucky shared an image from a brand new photo shoot, and we're delighted to see this winning team working together again! (Click the image to see Bucky's latest Twitter photo.)

Bucky Covington's
second album is slated for an early 2012 release, word has it--and it looks as though there are fresh promo photos in the works, as well. Bucky tweeted a link to this image from a photo session by award-winning video director/photographer Kristen Barlowe, and we can't wait to see the rest of the good stuff from the shoot!

If you'd like to get your own personal Bucky Covington concert photo, your next opportunity happens at the National Man Expo in Aberdeen, MD; scroll down to our previous post for a few details on Sunday afternoon's concert, and click here to check out Bucky's official site. Our good bud Fran at Buckytown USA will have this weekend's news posted in fine style on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and be sure to browse her awesome tour sidebar for up-to-the- minute information! We'll see you very soon; until then, have a beautiful Friday--W

Unconfirmed but likely concert date: Bucky Covington at the National Man Expo, Aberdeen MD, 9/25 (updated)

Bucky Covington on stage at the KHEY New Country Showcase in El Paso; photo by the talented Buckymouse. Thanks again!

Here's an intriguing bit of concert news that just popped up on the National Man Expo's Facebook page: "It's official, Bucky Covington, American Idol runner up and rising country music star, will be performing at the Expo on Sunday afternoon." We'll try to get more info on this one as it becomes available; in the meantime, the Expo's official site is right here.

Bucky's Baltimore-area fans can enjoy two days of manly shopping (including power tools, tech gadgets, ultimate fighting, sports, T-shirts, gyms, hair restoration products, cell phones, laser tattoo removal, fishing, poker, ATVs, guns and barbecue) activities (paintball, video games, rock and roll, a charity raffle featuring a 1965 Shelby Cobra [!], an arm wrestling contest and home run derby) and celebrity appearances at the Ripken Stadium, 873 Long Drive in Aberdeen, MD. Add an awesome live set by Bucky and his band, and you've got a winning weekend!

Again, this one's technically unconfirmed and not listed on Bucky's official schedule as of post time, so it might be a good idea to keep that Facebook page handy and contact the Expo folks before driving long distance. Sounds like a truly fun event--have a blast! More soon--W

Update: Thanks to the very kind Fran from the beautiful Buckytown USA blog for her comment: "
http://www.nationalmanexpo.com... he is listed on the website here" The Expo thanked 103.7 WXCY for bringing Bucky to the stage--if you're in the listening area, tune in for info and zap a request their way if you're so inclined.

Concert reminder: Bucky Covington at the Washington County Fair tonight, and an Ashley photo gallery...

Another Virginia concert memory; Bucky Covington at the WSLC Star B-Q in Salem, VA. More of Laura Tucker's beautiful images from the day are available at the So Salem Flickr profile.

Today's big news actually came across the wire last night: Bucky Covington and his band are playing the Washington County Fair tonight in Abingdon, VA. They're filling in for Steel Magnolia, who were forced to cancel due to a family emergency. If you're one of Bucky's many fans in the area, get offline and get over there now, y'all. The music starts at 8 pm--have a great time!

Otherwise, it's fairly quiet, but we did find a beautiful photo gallery that we somehow missed before; pro photographer Jarrod Nelson was on hand for the Ashley for the Arts festival this summer, and his images from Bucky's set are stunning. Check them out here--and major thanks to Mr. Nelson for posting this photoset at Flickr! We'll see you soon--have a great night, everybody...

Concert video: Bucky Covington's "Strong Enough" and "I Wanna Be That Feeling"

Moya1JB chronicled Bucky Covington's Alpena concert in fine style, and we thank her so much! Here are two songs from Bucky's upcoming second album, "Strong Enough" and his next single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling". For your chance to enjoy Bucky and his band live, visit the concert calendar at his official website.

Bucky Covington and his band are enjoying a bit of a break between scheduled concert dates, although we all know how quickly that can change. At post time, Bucky's next stop is Jay Ballinger's On the Course for Kids charity event on September 19th at the Quail Chase Golf Club (7000 Cooper Chapel Road in Louisville, KY), where he'll be one of the many country stars helping to raise funds for the Home of the Innocents. If you'd like to join the fun--or just help out--tickets and donation info are available at the event's site.

Another great Alpena memory from Moya--thanks again!

The Hometown Tour is winding down (see Bucky's official site for remaining dates, and get to a show) but the new label/sophomore album buzz is growing louder. Big Frog 104's site is the latest to spread the good news about Bucky's return to the airwaves. When is Bucky's new album coming out? Our last word--straight from Bucky himself via the Herald Dispatch--was "another five, six months after" his upcoming single (which is going to be sensational, if this live version is any indication). Yep...patience is a virtue...

Have a great day, everyone!

Tonight! Bucky Covington live at the Recher in Towson, MD, State Theatre (Starkville) concert update and more...

A short, sweet Maryland memory, courtesy of the kind rlmisty at YouTube--here's Bucky Covington, Jeff Cease, Ducky Medlock and some of the happy crowd singing "Gotta Be Somebody" in Baltimore. Bucky returns to Maryland tonight; see the post for details, and check out his official site and Buckytown USA to see when he'll be performing in your hometown.

Another stop on the Hometown Tour tonight, and this one's bound to be a party! Catch Bucky Covington and his band at the the Recher Theatre in Towson, MD this evening--the openers are Mason Vixon, the event is all-ages, and the directions to the venue are right here.

Over the weekend, Bucky helped brighten the day for a very special audience. His show at the 2011 Family Day picnic at Andrews AFB was a hit, according to the 459th Air Refueling Wing's Facebook page. They graciously shared a shot from Bucky's set, and you can enjoy it here. Thanks and gratitude to all who serve!

Bucky shared a sweet photo as well, via his official Twitter--here's a look at the pretty harbor view from his night out in Baltimore.

Bucky Covington and Rocky Covington harmonize in Jacksonville --thanks to Diver for graciously sharing this shot.

Also via Twitter, the State Theater in Starkville, MS just sent out a message about that rumored October 21st Bucky Covington show--looks like it might be more than a rumor, folks! This concert date is still unconfirmed (Update: Confirmed and now listed on Bucky's official tour page--have fun, Bucky's fans in and around Starkville!)

Last but very definitely not least, between that eOne-related Tweet we reported on back in July and Bucky's new label comments in this excellent Angela Henderson Herald-Dispatch interview last week, there's been some genuine positive buzz. Country Music Is Love and MJ's Big Blog are among those who shared the welcome news; an official acknowledgement of his label signing should be coming over the wires soon. (Anyone else reminded of that long wait back in '06? Good things come, etc...and then, as now, it's a safe bet that our patience will be rewarded with some fantastic country hits.) Congrats again to Bucky!

We'll be back ASAP--take care, everybody...

Concert video: Bucky Covington sings "American Friday Night", Preds Party and a GAC reminder (updated w/CW alert--thanks, Lisa!)

Bucky's next public show takes place on September 12th at the Recher Theatre in Towson, MD; MissionTix has a seat with your name on it, but you'd better hurry!

MJ's Big Blog has a note about Carrie Underwood's performance at last night's Petey’s Preds Party, a benefit for the Peterson Foundation for Parkinson’s and the Nashville Predators Foundation. Bucky was among the many Nashville celebrities in attendance at the sold out gala, and Mrs. Mike Fisher's performance was a welcome surprise. Bucky tweeted about the party today, as well as posting a reminder about Billy Ray Cyrus' I'm American special, which repeats tomorrow at 5 pm ET on GAC. He's one of the friends who joined the Cyrus family on their farm for a salute to military families--be sure to catch it!

Just wanted to share so you could report on the blog!" Kudos to Lisa for sharing the info, and the magazine is on your local shelves even as we speak...check it out, y'all! See you on Monday--W

Kudos to the very kind Moya for sharing this great concert photo from Bucky Covington's show in Alpena last week.

Bucky Covington and his band will headline the Breathitt Heritage Fair there on October 1st. The Fair is happening in Douthitt Park (100 N Point Ave--directions here), and Bucky's set to take the stage at 7 pm local time.

We'll close with a fun tidbit from WGLR's YouTube channel--remember Bucky's slight apprehension about singing the National Anthem before last week's charity softball game? If you'd like to see video of how it all went, please click here. (Thumbs up, indeed!) More soon--have a great evening!

Bucky Covington concerts this winter (and a little quote about that new label...)

Thanks again to the very kind Misfit42 for these great shots of Bucky Covington and Rocky Covington (scroll down) on stage in Portsmouth, Ohio.

We'll kick things off with a couple of reminders about two upcoming live Bucky Covington shows; he and his rockin' band will perform their last scheduled show of 2011 (as of now, anyway!) at the Dixie Carter Performing Arts Center in Huntingdon, TN on December 17th. This one is part of the venue's ongoing Fun on the Farm Jamboree series, and the whole 2-hour afternoon show will be broadcast live on True Country 100.9 The Farm beginning at 2 pm local time. Tickets are $15 at the Dixie PAC Box Office, by phone at (731) 986-2100 or online at www.DixiePAC.net.

O
n October 22nd, Bucky and his band are set to perform at the Bluffs and Bayou Music Festival in Vidalia, LA. So far, the most current info we can find on this one comes from the Vidalia Conference and Convention Center site, where this poster has now been added; we'll keep an eye out for more details as the date approaches.

As for Bucky's very much awaited second album--this excellent weekend interview by Angela Henderson of the Huntington Herald-Dispatch is full of fun and information! Among the relevant tidbits, here's a record-label info quote from Bucky himself:

Well, we haven't exactly put out a press release on it yet. It's a great company. It's a great company that’s moved into Nashville. I'm the first country artist they’ve signed. I'm absolutely thrilled. The guy that’s heading it up, Van, is also from North Carolina like myself. So far, I'm also working with a lot of people who were on Lyric Street. Of course, when Lyric Street Records shut down, everybody goes a little somewhere and a lot of the folks have gone over to this company. So I'm looking very much forward to working with some of these folks again.

All I'm gonna say is...we can't wait. More very soon!

Happy Labor Day, and a new Bucky Covington concert photo (updated 10 pm ET)

Huge thanks to Misty (aka Misfit42) for generously sharing this excellent concert photo from Bucky Covington's show in Portsmouth, OH!

We'll be back with a full post this evening--but for now, be sure to check out the morning news at
Buckytown USA, where Fran's got some fun new video and a concert schedule update. See you in a few hours--enjoy the holiday!--W

Update: Looks like Bucky (and Bucky's fans) spent the holiday relaxing--always a good thing. No major news to report besides that contained in Fran's excellent post at Buckytown USA, so we'll just wrap it all up with a reminder about Bucky's next
open-to-the-public show
at the Recher Theatre in Towson, MD on September 12th (tickets available online now at MissionTix; this one's still not listed on Bucky's official schedule, so we'd recommend checking with the venue and/or local fans before driving long distances.)

After that--and this one is on the official schedule--Bucky will be part of Jay Ballinger's On the Course for Kids charity golfing and music event on September 19th in Louisville, KY. Be sure to check out the event's website for information on how you can be a part of it, too.

We'll see you tomorrow--safe travels to all!

Weekend fan video: Bucky Covington live in MI (and a few reminders...)

Huge thanks to the very gracious at YouTube, who captured this very cool 15-minute concert video! Bucky Covington and his band performed "Hold a Woman", "I'll Walk", "Mama Must Be Prayin'" and "Evel Knievel" to a happy crowd in Alpena, MI earlier this week. Your next chance to catch Bucky and company happens tonight at the River Days Festival in Portsmouth, OH, and on Sunday, enjoy the show at the Iowa County Fair in Mineral Point, WI. For Bucky's full weekend schedule, scroll down to the previous post, and be sure to visit Bucky's official website for the rest of his hot Hometown Tour dates. Join me at Buckytown USA for all of the weekend's news and updates--see you there, and have a great holiday weekend, everyone!

Bucky Covington in concert--see him this fall!

A fresh new photo from this week's Alpena Fair show--here's Bucky Covington and Rocky Covington (on drums) rockin' the crowd in Michigan. Huge thanks to the very generous MoyaJB for sharing this shot! For your chance to enjoy Bucky and his band live this autumn, check out his official site and the concert sidebar at Buckytown USA.

A new month, a new season--and plenty of chances left to see Bucky Covington live in concert! The Hometown Tour is winding down, but there's a lot of fun left to go. Here's a quick look at the next few stops:

Bucky's next show happens tomorrow at the River Days Festival in Portsmouth, OH--this one's a freebie, so bring everyone you know and come on out! After that, he and the WGLR All-Stars will host Bucky’s Bash Celebrity Softball Game at 10 am on Sunday morning at Soldiers Memorial Park (Shake Rag St, Mineral Point, WI), prior to their Iowa County Fair performance on Sunday night.

Coming up: a military-only show at Andrews AFB on September 10th, a stop at the Recher Theatre in Towson, MD on September 12th (tickets available online at MissionTix), and Jay Ballinger's On the Course for Kids charity event on September 19th at the Quail Chase Golf Club (7000 Cooper Chapel Road in Louisville, KY). We hope you can be there for one--or more!--of these fun live shows; Bucky's full concert schedule is here, and his high-energy concerts are well worth the trip.

Have a beautiful Thursday, everybody!
