News! News! News!

Photo by DeniseBernadette--be sure to check out her incredible tour gallery.

Bless you, Becky, for passing on the good news--still praying my connection holds up long enough for me to post this link:

Sawyer Brown singer hooks up with Bucky Covington on upcoming CD

Mark Miller, the frontman, producer and songwriter for the country group Sawyer Brown, which just played the Paramount Arts Center for the Kentucky Music Trail, has signed on to produce the first CD for American Idol 5 finalist and North Carolina native Bucky Covington.

Covington, who just rocked the Big Sandy Superstore Arena on Thursday night, will be working with Miller on his debut CD that will be released in 2007.
The 28-year-old singer and songwriter has also signed on with Frank Miller and Ron Harris of Nashville based O-Seven Artist Management, as well as with Creative Artists Agency as his booking agency.

"Bucky's appeal with the American people was evident from his success on American Idol and we plan to continue that success," said O-Seven Management's Frank Miller in a release. "The format of AI didn't allow him to showcase his roots, ranging from traditional country to Southern rock."

"He's a great singer and musician with an infectious good ole boy charisma," added O-Seven's Ron Harris. "He's tailor made for country music."

Yes! There's a huge thread already happening at the Fox boards right now...lots of very excited Bucky Covington supporters today! One thoughtful fan's already posted the news at the CMT boards, too--hop into both threads and double your fun. And CAA are some heavy hitters, y'all--here's their Wikipedia entry, if you'd like to check out the company Bucky's keeping.

Happy dancing starts now! More later...

  7. Hey, Anon! Straw cowgirl hats (and sunny days) rule. :D

Becky, you are so kind to spread the good word. So cool the way Bucky's supporters look out for each other! I'm still suffering from a tech glitch, here (writing this on a very slow dial-up backup connection) so it would have taken me forever to find that important article. You're a life saver!

Kathy, I'm dancing right along with you, girl. :)

Chan, hi! "<3" ("less than three") is supposed to be a heart, sideways--it looks like one in some fonts but not others. One of the kind anons who used to post comments here used it as her "name", sort of! I still don't know her real name, so..."LTT" (less than three) say hi if you're out there!

And as far as W-B goes...I'm so shy. I'll see if I can work up the bravery to say "hi" and "thanks" to Bucky should the chance arrive! But I will definitely have that blast...and I promise to tell you all about what promises to be a truly cool show. Take care and thanks again for encouraging me to go--I really appreciate your good advice! :)

    Hi B,
You are SO welcome for the encouragement to
    go!
And on saying hi to Bucky - I used to be WAY
too shy to say hello to a performer that I admired,
but after I had a couple of performer
friends convince me of how great it is to get
that kind of feedback, and once I took on
the " Well , if they think Im a dork, OH WELL! "
attitude, I havent looked back. I'd say 95% of the
time when I have had the chance to say
'Thank you for your music,' or ' I loved the show', or some such simple thing I have never regretted it.
It gave me joy, and usually seemed to be
appreciated by the performer. I've waited in small clubs after shows for the artists to come out
(if theyre going to ) and sign things, and I think
it can be really nice for them, too. It took a lot of
nerve on my part, but its made me braver to talk
to all kinds of people more easily now.
Anyway, thats my little pep talk.
One more thing - My step mom gave me some good advice once
that I used for this, too. She said if you think
about doing something, and think "Will I regret
it if I DON'T do this? " , and the answer is Yes
then that means one should go ahead and do it.

Either way, you will have fun, though!
    take care!
    Chan

  9. Chan, I just found your post tonight! You're so right...and so is your stepmom. Good advice. :)

I have been incredibly shy most of my life (you'd never know it from how I babble on this blog!) but I am listening to you. You're making a lot of sense...

Thanks again, and I am absolutely looking forward to coming back here and telling you everything!
