As far as we know (and always subject to change!), his fan club headquarters is still the Music City Network website that we've been linking to since it opened a few years ago. Thanks to kayjudylang for one of the very first live videos of Bucky Covington and his band performing "I Wanna Be That Feeling"; this was taken in Wentzville, MO, and it's a blast. It's a quiet news day (again...sigh!) but Bucky did Tweet a reminder about his upcoming show at Capone's in Johnson City, TN on February 16th (buy tickets online right here), so we'll remind everyone about it, too.

And as for that chart check--good news at this week's Music Row online Weekly Chart Report, where Bucky's new single has moved up to the New On The Chart-Debuting This Week list. It's currently holding the #79 spot there--and if you haven't heard it on your local country radio station, feel free to call or eQuest Bucky this weekend!

Happydays captured this great action shot during Bucky Covington's concert in Murray, KY ; he and his band are headed across the country once again this spring and summer!

Remember those mysterious February shows we mentioned in our last post? Looks like one of the mystery dates has been fleshed out a bit; Bucky Covington's "Upcoming Events" page at eOne lists a 2/17 concert at Stingray's in Maggie Valley, NC. No ticket info yet, but the venue does have a ReverbNation page and a profile at The Mountaineer; their phone number is 828-926-4100, and you can contact them by email at stingrays.maggie@gmail.com.

We've also got good news for Bucky and Rocky's many (many) West Coast fans! Bucky's eOne calendar lists a performance at the Stockton Asparagus Festival on Saturday, April 28th. Here's a link to the festival's ticket page, and another to the Entertainment page, where the weekend's stars are "TBA" as of post time...

Good news from Music Row's recent Weekly Chart Report; Bucky Covington's new single "I Wanna Be That Feeling" is at the top of their "On Deck—Soon To Be Charting" list with 173 spins as of January 20th. When will the song officially hit the charts? We're guessing the answer is pretty soon...

Right now, however, the song is popping up on those "new music challenge" segments around the country. Bucky's latest tune faced other new releases on WPUR/Cat Country 107.3 in New Jersey and WKHX/Kicks 101.5 in Atlanta, among others. It's also on AllAccess.com's "Cool New Music" list for the week. Bucky himself is doing all he can to promote his great new tune, including tweeting a link to this sweet acoustic performance on the FOX 17 (Nashville) Tennessee Mornings show last week. Here's a treat for Bucky Covington's fans in Music City: he'll be a guest on FOX 17's TN Mornings during the 8 am hour on Wednesday as part of their American Idol Week segment. We're hoping Bucky will have a chance to talk about his beautiful new single "I Wanna Be That Feeling", and we hope we'll hear more about his upcoming sophomore album. It looks as though the station's website posts videos from the show; we spotted a link to Bo Bice's visit on the TN Mornings page, and that's a good sign for us out of towners. We've heard some good news about Bucky Covington's hot new single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling"--sounds like its radio days are starting up early. It's been heard on Kicks 101.5 in Atlanta as part of the station's "Country Clash", on KSOP in Salt Lake City (a kind elf thinks it was the winner of an night time songfight there--it was played twice within 40 minutes, which is a very good sign!) and it might be popping up on your airwaves soon! We're all keeping an eye out for an official add date, but in the meantime, your local country station might be on board sooner than you think...

As for upcoming concerts, we've got an update from Lucky Cowboy about Bucky's show at Keller's Saloon in Castalian Springs, TN on April 7th:

Bucky Covington's wild weekend fun might have cost him a few aches and pains; he tweeted "Finally healing from the 4wheeler wreck this weekend... I should really get a GoPro soon @GoPro_News" this evening, and we're hoping he's feeling better every day! He and his excellent band will be ready to rock on Friday night, when they'll play Stoney's in Evansville, IN as the venue celebrates their first anniversary. Bucky Covington and his family made the news at TheTennessean .com today--sounds like a sweet celebration happened over the holidays! From the newspaper's Celebrity Column:

No one can accuse Bucky Covington of being a bad host or lacking holiday spirit.
The American Idol alum hosted 22 family members and their 12 dogs at his Nashville-area property over the past couple of weeks. The Covington crew rode four-wheelers and played Dirty Santa, and then the singer used his tractor and front loader to pile up enough logs to make a bonfire big enough to accommodate all of his guests.

Nashville's back to business today, of course--and it looks like Bucky's new single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling", is off to a running start. Todd Collins of Iowa's Kix 101.1 tweeted this message earlier today: The first New Dish at Noon for 2012 is Bucky Covington "I Wanna Be That Feeling". Chances are, Bucky's latest will be popping up on your country station's "new song spot" within the week, so keep an ear out and a radio on...

Bucky Covington's new single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling" is a rockin' country love song perfect for the new year, and Bucky and his band will be performing it live at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill at Harrah's Las Vegas on New Year's Eve. Although the concert date does not appear at Bucky's official site as of post time, it was confirmed by our good friends at Buckytown over the weekend, and if you're anywhere near Las Vegas, it's an absolute must! Tickets are $25 per person for ILTB admission, or a $125 wristband for all three venues (Carnaval Court, Toby Keith's I Love this Bar and Grill, and Piano Bar), along with raffle entries and included draft beer, domestic beer, imported beer and call drinks.

Better watch out! This exuberant vintage performance by Bucky Covington and his band was captured in 2007 by the very kind FLCathy; enjoy a little taste of "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town", and get ready for the gift of "I Wanna Be That Feeling" on your country radio station after the holidays...

A friend told us that Bucky Covington's rockin' version of "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" was heard on both WALS in Oglesby, IL and KXDD in Yakima, WA in the past couple of days--and it might be playing on your local country radio station this week, too. If not, why not hop on that good ol' request line...

In the meantime, coverage of that Birmingham-area benefit for injured firefighter Brad Dean continues to roll in; Bucky tweeted a link to this video from local station ABC 33/40, and it's well worth a look. (As the story notes, donations are still being accepted at HelpTheGoodGuys.com.)

Congratulations to America's newest (and perhaps most melodic?) honorary firefighter; Bucky Covington was presented with an engraved firefighter's hatchet during Sunday's benefit for Brad Dean, a Birmingham firefighter who was injured in the line of duty. To find out more about BLEVE's efforts to aid firefighters and police officers in times of need, click here. If you'd like to congratulate Bucky in person, Fran's Sunday and Monday posts at Buckytown USA are chock full of news about likely 2012 concert dates, and we'll repeat that info here. (These dates are technically unconfirmed; we'll both be on the lookout for more concert details as they become available.)

December 31st at Harrah's Las Vegas: Fran has posted that Bucky and his band will lead the party at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar inside Harrah's--there's a $25 per person ILTB admission or a $125 package for all 3 drinking venues, including drinks.

January 13th in Evansville, IN: No details yet, but if you're in the 99.5 WKDQ listening area, keep an ear out! (The station also has a Twitter and a Facebook where info on this concert might pop up soon...)

Bucky Covington's recent performance at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City was a true delight; here's "It's Good to Be Us" as captured by the very kind buckyandrockytxfan at YouTube. Thanks! Bucky's next acoustic show happens this coming Sunday in the Birmingham AL area, where he'll bowl and sing at the Lightning Strikes Bowling Center during a fundraiser for injured Birmingham Fire Fighter Brad Dean presented by BLEVE and Entertainment One Music. Bucky's Twitter had a message about the event earlier today, complete with a link to all the details at his official Facebook--be sure to check it out!

We tweeted this link late last night, but it deserves a repeat--Bucky's show for 103.7 WXCY was a big success, according to CecilWhig.com. Bucky Covington's been busy on the road and in the studio, and today, we got not one but a pair of tweets complete with cool studio photographs. Today marks the debut of Bucky Covington's first new single in quite a while, and if you haven't yet bought it for yourself, hit iTunes right now and come on back! Here's an excerpt from the official press release:

“I Wanna Be That Feeling,” written by Jimmy Yeary and Ben Hayslip, is a tempo love track that explores the excitement of young love. The highly anticipated song, which is Bucky’s first musical offering in nearly two years, is being made available for digital download by his fans in advance of its upcoming release to country radio.

Bucky recently filmed the music video for the song from Nashville’s abandoned Tennessee State Prison. The clip will be released to video outlets in the new year. The North Carolina singer is busy in the studio writing and recording new music for his long-awaited sophomore album, due in 2012.

As y'all might have guessed, we're just a little bit...erm, biased here at Buckymania. After all, "I Wanna Be That Feeling" spotlights that same distinctive, gritty, soulful Southern voice that inspired this blog back in '06 when Bucky was an unknown, unsigned Idol semifinalist. But even without factoring in my years-in-the-making admiration for Bucky's vocal style (and admiration for how his talents have deepened and grown richer over those same years), I'm gonna go ahead and call "I Wanna Be That Feeling" a likely hit, for reasons that might be more subtle than they first appear.

For one thing, the song's theme and lyrics take full advantage of Bucky's unusual, appealing youthful-yet-experienced gravelly tone in much the same way that his first big hit, "A Different World" (and the should-have-been hit "A Father's Love") did so well. A number of the reviews of Bucky's first album noted that a nostalgic thread ran through many of the songs; this new song deftly appeals to the listener's romantic nostalgia, then brings those feelings into the present and the future, with the singer declaring his intentions to be part of it all...

Speaking of "wind blowin' through your hair", here's Bucky Covington, Rocky Covington, and a summer breeze in Palmdale; thanks again to a talented anonymous photographer for the photo.

Yep, we've all been there, or we'll be there eventually. Whether you're young enough that "cruising through the parking lot" was last week's entertainment, or you're grown-up enough to look back on those times with a smile, you can relate--and "relatability" is the key.

At the start of his career, right after his time on Idol, Bucky answered the question "What is it about country music that touches you, that makes you want to sing it?" thus: "Well, it lets you tell stories about stuff you can relate to, or [you've] been through. It just tells a story, you know..." Bucky Covington just happens to have one of the best storytelling voices in current country music, and it's going to be a pleasure to hear that voice telling this seductive, romantic story on the radio very soon. Welcome back, Bucky!

December 18th at Lightning Strikes Bowling Center in Trussville, AL: Bucky Covington will be the celebrity bowler at "Bowling With Bucky", a benefit for the family of injured Birmingham Fire Fighter Brad Dean presented by BLEVE and Entertainment One Music. The event begins at 1 pm and ends at 4pm; you can buy a $25 ticket for both bowling and an acoustic performance, or a $10 performance-only seat. (Children under 10 will be admitted to the show free.) The venue is located at 3600 Roosevelt Blvd in Trussville, and more information is available now on Facebook. Hope you can be there!

Bucky Covington, Gloriana, James Wesley and Casey James were a big hit for a good cause at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City last night--they helped sponsor station 106.5 The WOLF collect toys for needy local children, and rocked a big and happy crowd in the process. (We'd call that a win-win.) Rachel was there, and she shared this memory from the show: "The lineup was Gloriana, Bucky, James Wesley, and Casey James. This is how they were lined up on the stage from left to right, if you were facing the stage. It was an acoustic show, so from Bucky’s group, it was Bucky and Luke. Bucky kept referring to Luke as Jason Michael Carroll and it was pretty funny." Thanks, Rachel! Keep an eye out for a recap on Glenda's excellent Caseymania blog, as well. Bucky Covington's new record label, eOne, posted this video at YouTube, and their excellent description says it all: "Bucky Covington recently participated in the Veteran's Day Parade in Terre Haute, IN and helped present a check for $2500 to a firefighter's family in need. Bucky is heavily involved with BLEVE Entertainment and the IFF and FOP charities." Thanks to pcolson90 for sharing this moment with all of us.

Bucky Covington's upcoming new single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling", gets a solid review by writer Amy Blizzard at DixieStreams.com today. Among her observations about the song, this stood out:

'I Wanna Be That Feeling' manages to place opposite qualities into one song and still make the result a pleasant one. For example, the single harbors an easygoing vibe without losing the underlying, ingrained edge in the arrangement which is vaguely reminiscent of Christian Kane. It also presents romantic, heartfelt sentiment without being trite, sappy or overdone.

Although the clarity of the lyrics presented in the vocals occasionally suffers, Bucky Covington nonetheless proves he has gained power as a singer over the years. 'I Wanna Be That Feeling' is a palatable, fun single and marks the start of a fine return to the country music scene.

A new month brings new chances to see and hear Bucky Covington and his band as they wrap up what's been a red-hot 2011 Hometown Tour! Here's a quick look at Bucky's live concert dates in December as of post time:

Thursday, December 1st at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City: Enjoy The WOLF's Acoustic Christmas Concert with Bucky Covington, Casey James, Gloriana and James Wesley--this win-your-seat charity show is a benefit for the local Salvation Army.

Friday, December 2nd at 88 Broadway in Urbana, IL: Bucky and his band (along with Weston Burt) will be rockin' the house--tickets are available at the 88 Broadway box office, online at eTix, and locally at Andreas Harley Davidson and Pards Western Shop. Looks like this one may have been cancelled--see Thursday post above and stay tuned for updates...

Saturday, December 3nd at the Twisted Spoke Saloon in Tremont, IL: Tickets will be $10; more details at The Biker Spot site. The Twisted Spoke's address is 105 South Baer Road in Tremont [map here], and Weston Burt will be opening for Bucky and his band.

Bucky's upcoming new single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling", is making the news rounds today, too. CMT's Hazel Smith (who has been a kind supporter of Bucky's from way, way back) mentioned him and the song in today's Hot Dish column at CMT.com , noting that the single will be out in January. The Boot also has an article about Bucky's return to the airwaves, with a fun quote from Bucky himself via an earlier story at USA Today:

Bucky says he played "I Wanna Be That Feeling" one time several months ago but wasn't happy with the arrangement so he pulled it. "I had a fan come up who was almost mad at me: 'What happened to that Feeling song?'" he says. "I put it back into the set with a new guitar player, and it seems like folks are just loving it."

But wait, there's more! The Taste Of Country blog has a review of Bucky's new single by writer Billy Dukes, with this thought-provoking observation: " Covington has always had the one quality that aspiring musicians hope for: an unmistakable voice. This song is humble and a little clunky but perfectly memorable."

Bucky Covington's official Twitter has been very busy this week--not only did he tweet the link to eOne's YouTube preview of his upcoming single "I Wanna Be That Feeling" (yep, I'm totally diggin' this tune...was there ever any doubt?), he also linked to this bit of woodsy video mystery with this message: "Which way is the tree going to fall? Keep guessing and I will reveal the results tomorrow!" Hmmm...certainly gives us a new perspective on landscaping, doesn't it?

Bucky and his band are also keeping busy on the road...his next show happens tomorrow night at the Wicked Moose Bar & Grill in Rochester, MN; some online seats may still be available at Tempo Tickets. The Wicked Moose's address is 1201 Eastgate Dr. SE in Rochester [here's a handy map]. Hope you'll be there for the party!

We'll keep tonight's news short and sweet, since the CMA Awards will be in progress by the time you read this:

Bucky Covington tweeted this photo of himself with new labelmate Shooter Jennings (confession--I'm a fan and I'm pretty pleased that they're on the same label...) taken during the latter's video shoot for "Family Man" yesterday. Bucky has a cameo in the video, we hear--can't wait to see how it turns out...

Here's a funny tidbit about the shooting of Bucky's own video from Billboard Country Update (via MJ's Big Blog):

Bucky Covington, recently signed to the eOne label, shot the video for his next single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling," at the Tennessee State Prison in Nashville. The site isn’t one most people would likely pick for the clip to a love song, but Covington jokes that prison "kind of makes sense, if you think about that." While at the jail, Covington couldn’t resist the opportunity to sit in the electric chair where a long line of prisoners were executed. He escaped without incident, though the remote possibility that he could’ve been jolted with electricity could’ve made that an unwise move. "Looking back," he says, "I’m agreeing." The single ships in January.

We'll close for now with a new bulletin from Tribstar.com in Terre Haute, IN; looks like Bucky will be taking some very special time out in the area for the Veteran's Day parade. From the newspaper: "The parade starts at 10 a.m. at Fourth and Cherry streets. Covington will be riding on a THFD fire truck, the [press] release states." Bucky is scheduled to present a check to the family of fallen Terre Haute Police Officer Brent Long after the parade; the funds were made possible from the sale of CDs published by Alabama's Randy Owen, the newspaper notes.

"I Wanna Be That Feeling" was filmed last week in Nashville, and his new album (full of fun tracks like this one) should be hitting the charts in early 2012. A very kind elf just let us know that Bucky Covington's fans in the WQYK (Tampa) listening area enjoyed a treat even before Friday night's party at The Round Up--his new single, "I Wanna Be That Feeling", was played in the background during his call-in interview about the St Jude's Research Children's Hospital benefit. Our elf also mentioned that it sounded absolutely fantastic on the radio..."way better" than the streamed preview we heard earlier this week. Awesome news, yes? Another day, another hot November concert date! Bucky Covington and his excellent band will rock the Wicked Moose Bar & Grill in Rochester, MN on November 18th, according to the website of sponsoring station KAUS / US Country 99.9 in Austin, MN. Tickets are available online now at Tempo Tickets, and they're a very reasonable $10 each. The Wicked Moose is located at 1201 Eastgate Dr. SE in Rochester [here's a handy map].

We'll start off the week with some great news from Buckytown USA; over the weekend, Fran graciously shared two new Bucky Covington concert stops, and we're happy to pass along the updates. This is an all-ages Halloween party, and the VIP option ($50, includes excellent front-of-stage seats and a meet and greet) is very limited--as of yesterday evening, there were only 14 VIP tickets left! We're still on a mini-hiatus until Monday (sigh...can't wait to get back home sweet home!) but we did want to pass along a reminder about Bucky Covington's show at the Snorty Horse in Columbia MO on Saturday night (10/8). At last look, this one was pretty close to selling out, so be sure to check the venue's website for the latest on ticket availability.

Last night, Bucky was a newly added (and welcome) part of the Forget Me Not benefit showcase at the Hard Rock Cafe in Nashville. Proceeds from the event went to the Alzheimer's Foundation, and our hearty congrats to all who were able to enjoy the terrific array of Music City talent!
