Thursday news: "I'll Walk" buzz grows, a fond farewell, and Happy Anniversary!

By request, a beautiful concert shot by Beesims--here's Bucky Covington on stage in Wallingford, Connecticut. You can enjoy more of her great photos at Flickr. Thanks again, Beesims!

The official release date for Bucky Covington's next single might still be unannounced, but unofficially, "I'll Walk" is already off to a excitingly strong start. Country Aircheck reports that it was the #1 downloaded new tune on the 14th, according to the leading supplier of digital media to radio stations; and on the consumer end of things, our friend Debbie H. reports that it's also turning up on the "Top 5 at 6" on WKML this week.

In addition, I'll Walk" has turned up on several local "pick or flick" challenges--and it may be coming soon to a new-tune challenge near you! Your local station's website will more than likely have the days and times for test-tune segments listed on their website, so if you're not sure when to tune in, check it out. (Watching for Bucky on his channel at Yes.com is a wonderful way of keeping up with him, especially if you're a streaming radio fan.) Looks like our little hiatus is drawing to a close fast--and that's a good thing. Get ready for some new-single excitement!

It's also time to bring back the ol' chart news: the not-quite officially released "I'll Walk" is now knocking on the Mediabase "hot 100" door. It's #102 on the weighted chart as of this morning, with stations in Stockton CA, York PA, Salt Lake City, Pittsburgh and Akron giving it some airtime. Keep your radio on...

Rocky Covington, Ducky Medlock and Bucky Covington charm the crowd at the Fresno Fair in this exciting concert shot by the very kind Minnie. (Please click the image to view it full size.) You can enjoy more of her beautiful Fresno photos here. Thanks again, Minnie!

While we're looking ahead to a very bright future for Bucky's next single, it's always fun to look back, as well--which is why we'll miss The Covington Times so much. Today they're announcing an "extended leave of absence", and we'd like to say a hearty thanks for all the good times!

And at It's Good to Be Us, Midask9 has posted a truly beautiful tribute in honor of the one-year anniversary of Bucky Covington, the album. (Be sure to click on that stunning collage to view it full size--wow. What an amazing year it's been...)

I was admiring the lead off photo on today's post and when I looked to read the credit I was shocked to see that I was the photographer. My pictures look so much better when they are accompanied by your lovely prose :)
