Monday news: Power Picks today (arrgh!), April concert preview and more...

Our good friend Leaf snagged this fresh concert photo--here's Bucky Covington on stage (with Tom Hurst on drums and Steve Cook on bass) at yesterday's WKDF Birthday Bash at the Sommet Center in Nashville. Thanks so much for sharing this shot, Leaf!

Bucky Covington's latest CMT Power Picks matchup is coming up later this morning; tune in and log on at 11 a.m. ET (please note new time) to vote. "A Different World" (Bucky's CMT Music Award nominated video-- register at CMT and vote for it here) will face a challenge during the first half of the show. (Update: Well, we didn't quite win this one, but there's another chance tomorrow--"It's Good to Be Us" faces a Power Picks challenge on Tuesday, and we'll be here and ready. See you then!)

Here's a quick look at the rest of what's happening:

Chart news: "It's Good to Be Us" is sandwiched between two huge superstars on the Mediabase weighted chart, where it holds the #10 spot this morning. (It's a solid #11 on the Top 500, where the big names have completed their polevault moves.) We want that official Top 10 on the Billboard and Radio & Records charts for the week, and there's only one way to help that happen--sing along with me. ya'll!--keep requesting. Lia, The Big Time with Whitney Allen, After Midnite , your local DJ--today's the day to get in a workday or lunchtime request, and tonight's the night to pick up the phone and ask for "It's Good to Be Us". Top 10 (or even Top Five?) on CMT Music Awards night would be so very sweet...

More concert goodness from last weekend's Broome Arena show--here's Bucky Covington and his excellent band (check out Jeff, Rocky and Steve at the end!) performing "It's Good to Be Us", as captured by the very kind RfaSoccerMom. Thanks for sharing this one!

Upcoming shows: Bucky's Throttle Wide Open travels resume on April 3rd with a show in Jackson, Tennessee (tickets at the City of Jackson site) and at the BJCC Arena in Birmingham on April 4th ( tickets at Ticketmaster), but he and his excellent band will be squeezing in some headlining gigs in April, as well! Here's a quick overview of early April events:

April 9th, Bucky and the band will play a show at the Williamson County Pavilion in Marion, Illinois; tickets can be purchased and printed online at www.wcpavilion.com. You can also get your seats locally at Black Diamond Harley Davidson in Marion, Clayship Guitars in Carbondale and Main Street Records in Mount Vernon.

Bucky rejoins Dierks Bentley and Luke Bryan on April 10th at the Elliott Hall of Music at Perdue University in West Lafayette, IN (tickets here) and on the 11th, they'll play the Braden Auditorium at Illinois State University in Normal (tickets at Ticketmaster; students can also purchase seats at the Braden Box Office in the Bone Student Center.)

The Throttle Wide Open tour hits the Rockford Metro Centre in Braden, IL on April 12th; tickets are available at the Metro Centre's site. After that, Bucky gets a day of rest before his winning moment (subtle, am I not? Vote, y'all!) at the 2008 CMT Music Awards on April 14th. More of Bucky's concert news coming soon--stay tuned...
