"It's Good to Be Us" moves closer to the Top 10...

Take a look at this afternoon's Mediabase rankings--Bucky Covington's "It's Good to Be Us" has moved up to #15 on the weighted chart and #14 on the Top 500, with two fairly skinny--but growing--bullets. This is the week to solidify these gains and get moving into the Top 10--and those calls to Lia, The Big Time with Whitney Allen, After Midnite, and our favorite local or syndicated DJs will make a major impact.

(Let's set another little milestone right now--can we get "It's Good to Be Us" into Top 5 territory before Bucky wins his CMT Music Award on April 14th? Hmmmmm...)

Many thanks to Buckyflowers and Dixie for the good news--stay tuned for more!*

*Well, I did plan to update again this evening, but life had a bit of a detour in mind. See you Monday morning!---Winnie

Have any of the fans ever thought of a concerted effort to get Bucky back on Idol? Even if it's for Idol Gives Back. It's pretty insulting IMO that Rascal Flatts is asked to be on the show, yet two other successful Lyric Street artists that were actually contestants on the show are left out in the cold. Doesn't seem right.

  3. Thank you so much for the heads-up on that incredible video by Buckymouse! It's on the front page now. Wow!

And Anon 6:40, hi! Good question--I honestly don't know how responsive the Idol brass (or Fox) would be since Bucky's no longer connected to 19...however, Elliott Yamin perfomed beautifully on the show last year and he, like Bucky, is a hit-making artist with no formal connection to 19, so, hmmmm...sweet idea!

What sort of a concerted effort do you feel would be best? I'm sure the best bit of persuasion is a big hit in progress (hit artists mean ratings boosts) and of course a CMT Music Award win would be a nice "fun fact" to have mentioned on Idol, but I'd love to hear how other artists' fans have successfully done it. Thanks!

I'm not sure myself although it sounds like they are going to be opening a forum to ask questions according to Ryan on the last show. Maybe a slew of "helpful" suggestions is in order without being too annoying about it.

It also might be nice to combine efforts with another ignored contestant fanbase for added impact, say Josh Gracin or even Bo.

For Idol Gives Back, I can't think of many better representatives for the more poverty stricken areas of the South than Bucky really. And as charity minded as he is, it seems to be right up his alley. Like I said, maybe they just need the suggestion.
