Friday news: bullets wanted, CRS tonight, MySpace news and more...

Bucky Covington, Rocky Covington (left) and Ducky Medlock (right) rocked the crowd at their daytime CMA Fest performance; photo courtesy of the very kind Happydays. You can enjoy more of her beautiful CMA Fest photos here. Thanks, Happy!

Click here to see Bucky Covington's video, It's Good to Be Us, on CMT LoadedFirst things first--if you're not on the phone with your local DJ now requesting "It's Good to Be Us", step slowly away from the computer and move quickly toward the phone. (I'll wait.) Bucky's energetic single is is still #16 on both the Mediabase weighted and Top 500 charts, as of 4:10 PST--but the bullet is invisible on the former chart, and a mere 4 strong on the latter.

That just won't do!

We can get a headstart via email on tonight's requests at Lia, The Big Time with Whitney Allen, After Midnite, we can vote for Bucky's hot music video at GAC's Top 20 Country Countdown, CMT's Top 20 Countdown and at CMT's Pure Country Pure 12-Pack...and we can get that single back in unquestionably positive territory again this weekend. (If you're a long-time reader, you'll remember that "A Different World" has a similar stall on its way up...so our confidence has a little history behind it.)

A very quick glance at the rest of today's news:

Upcoming shows: Nothing new's been added to Bucky's tour schedule as of post time (and it's unlikely there'll be big changes during CRS week) so we'll repeat those general reminders. The Throttle Wide Open gets back into gear at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach on Thursday, 3/13; pick up your general admission entry at Ticketmaster. Tickets for most of Dierks Bentley's Throttle Wide Open dates are available now at Ticketmaster--check Dierks' official website for details on non-Ticketmaster events. Seats for the Jackson, TN Dierks Bentley concert on April 3rd are available at the City of Jackson site.

Other non-Ticketmaster shows include
Bucky and his excellent band's headlining small-hall stop at the Buffalo Bar in St. Joseph, MO on Friday, March 21--tickets can be bought at Biggins Sports Bar & Grill (816 232-4450) or Buffalo Bar at (816) 390-8444. Dierks Bentley and Bucky are listed on the concert calendar at the Red Rock Resort for a "Backyard" concert on Friday, May 2nd. Tickets (21 and over) go on sale Saturday, 3/15 at the Station Casinos online box office.

Copy, paste, and voila! Have fun--and if you snag it, let me know so I can link you and your site right here.

On the tube and around the net: Enjoy a great Opry shot of Bucky at The Covington Times today, along with some handy tech tips for streaming online. At Midask9's It's Good to Be Us blog, you'll find a celebration of Bucky's CMT Music Awards nod. (We're pretty proud of that--can you tell?) And if you haven't been by Country's Chatter lately, stop in today for a quick review of this week's ACM nods, and (in Sunday's post) a killer concert photo of Bucky's former tourmate and good friend Jason Michael Carroll.

A contest reminder:
Bucky's next "It's Good to Be Us" quiz question will be posted at his MySpace blog at 4 p.m today. The first MySpace poster who answers the question correctly in Bucky's MySpace comments wins an autographed picture and a grand prize entry, and one random winner of those same prizes will be chosen from all the posters who've answered the question correctly--but you've got to post your answer in the blog before Bucky's quiz-solving video appears. Good luck!

On the tube, catch reruns of
the RFD Channel's Crook & Chase show (featuring Bucky as a guest) today at 11:00 a.m. ET and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. ET. Bucky's 1/12 Opry performance gets an encore airing on GAC's Grand Ole Opry Live at 8:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, 3/8, with repeats all weekend.

Click here to vote for Bucky at GAC.comVote for Bucky: Here are today's video voting links--give "It's Good to Be Us" some bullet-bearing lovin' at GAC Top 20 Country Countdown, at CMT's Top 20 Countdown and at CMT's Pure Country Pure 12-Pack.

And the biggest voting destination of the week is the reopened ballot at the 2008 CMT Music Awards--voting runs until April 11th, and we want Bucky to rack up as many votes as he can, as fast as he can! Register at CMT and vote now--then pass along those links to friends, relatives, coworkers, perfect strangers...you get the idea.

Finally, a huge and hearty congratulations to Bucky on tonight's New Faces of Country Music showcase at CRS39--a wonderful milestone, and the start of many good times ahead.

More soon--have a great Friday!

He should be able to recover from a small loss like that. However, time is running out if they don't make the push to top 10 pretty soon. The song is almost 30 weeks old. Let's hope that it doesn't take that long for I'll Walk to blossom.

  2. Hi there--sorry I didn't see you earlier! I would love to see surge to Top 10 too, and the sooner the better, of course. You're right, Bucky's definitely enough of us voting and requesting to recover from a minimal setback.

My hope is that each new single would be added to radio faster than the last--have a feeling that's on most of our wishlists! Guess we'll see...
