The 2008 CMT Music Awards: 15 days to vote (and a little late news)

Some gnarly tech problems kept us offline most of the day on Wednesday, but the CMT Music Awards voting page didn't suffer the same fate, thank heaven--so the hundreds and hundreds of people y'all sent there were able to vote with no trouble at all. (Ahem!)

If you haven't done so already, feel free to register at CMT and vote for Bucky's beautiful video for "A Different World", then get ready for--you guessed it--yet another way to win a trip to see the CMT Music Awards live at the Curb Event Center in Nashville. (Can you tell how much we love the idea of having some Bucky Covington fans in the house?)

The Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau is offering several sweepstakes this month, and one of them is a prize package including roundtrip airfare for winner and a guest (courtesy of Southwest Airlines), two nights at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel, two tickets to the CMT Music Awards, two Music City Star Cards offering complimentary admission to over 30 of Nashville's attractions, and a Music City Welcome Kit upon arrival. On the charts, Bucky finished the day where he started it--at #10 with a bullet (how we love typing that!) on the Mediabase weighted listings, and #14 on the Top 500. Many thanks to a kind anonymous commenter who gave us a heads-up on the newest Radio & Records Country Singles chart; Bucky's up three spots this week to #11.

Some very quick concert reminders: Dierks Bentley, Bucky and Luke Bryan bring the Throttle Wide Open party to the Broome Arena in Binghamton, NY tonight; last-minute seats might still be on hand at Ticketmaster. Tomorrow's big show happens at the Mid Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, NY (tickets), and the week wraps up with a Saturday show at the Chevrolet Theatre in Wallingford, CT. Tickets for most of Dierks Bentley's Throttle Wide Open dates are available now at Ticketmaster--check Dierks' official website for details on non-Ticketmaster events.

Bucky's also got a few headlining shows coming up soon: on April 9, he and his excellent band play the Williamson County Pavilion in Marion, Illinois. Tickets are $25, and they're on sale now at Black Diamond Harley Davidson in Marion, Clayship Guitars in Carbondale and Main Street Records in Mount Vernon. Lady Antebellum will open, and that is an exciting combination of fresh country talent. Be there if you can!
