Off topic PSA: Station Family Fund benefit concert 2/25 in Providence--be there!

Here's a public service announcement reprinted from A Fairy Cowgirl's Life, my very-much neglected country fashion blog. (I'll be updating it again soon, I promise.) Bucky will NOT be at the Station Family benefit concert as of press time, but his friend Dierks Bentley will be there--and if you're in the area, I hope you can be, too. If you love live music, this is a cause that will be close to your heart, and well worth your time. Thanks to MJ's Big Blog for her link to this article from the Boston Herald. Feel free to pass this info to everyone you think would be interested, and thanks--Winnie

(Updated at 2:50 p.m.: Kellie Pickler's official site has posted that her appearance at the show has been cancelled. My apologies for any confusion!)

Dierks Bentley is taking a night off from his Throttle Wide Open tour to contribute to a good cause--he'll be part of the Phoenix Rising Musicians United to Benefit the Station Nightclub Fire Victims show, which takes place on Monday, February 25, 2008 at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island.

John Rich (Big & Rich), Alabama’s Randy Owen and Gretchen Wilson are some of the country artists perfoming at this benefit for the Station Family Fund, a non-profit charitable organization founded by survivors of the February 20, 2003 Station Nightclub fire in Warwick, Rhode Island. This is an all star show with both country and rock artists on the bill--you'll aslo hear Tom Scholz of Boston, Aaron Lewis, Tesla, Twisted Sister, Kevin Max and Stryper, as well as Emmy-nominated composer and musician Marc Bonilla (music director for the event) Carmine Appice’s SLAM!, Gary Pihl of Boston, Eric Martin of Mr. Big, Danny Seraphine with CTA, Gary Hoey and others still to be announced.

Tickets are available now at Ticketmaster.com, and there are several sponsorship options for those who'd like to contribute. And here's a note from the Boston Herald article: "
Anyone who buys a ticket, priced from $41-$61, at the arena box office will get a second ticket free. Those who already bought tickets are eligible to go to the box office and receive an additional free ticket for every ticket purchased."

Those of us who've loved those small-venue, intimate shows this past autumn and winter can't help but feel for the families in Warwick. This is a wonderful way to enjoy a terrific concert and support a very worthy cause. Hope you can be there!
